An all-new Jojo's Bizarre Adventure spin-off manga will feature Part 4 Diamond Is Unbreakable's Jōsuke Higashikata before his Stand, Crazy Diamond. This news was revealed in Ultra Jump magazine, right after the finale chapter of Part 8 Jojolion and the recent release of Part 9's new title JOJO LANDS.

Part 8 Jojolion follows an alternate timeline setting of Morioh, with the main character being a new version of Part 4's Jōsuke Higashikata. Part 8 recently ended its 10-year run in Ultra Jump magazine back in July but not without leaving an insinuated reveal for a Part 9 continuation titled JOJO LANDS. Created by Hirohiko Araki in 1983, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure continues to be one of the longest-running manga series with over 37 years of publication. The series continues to produce new projects including the OVA spin-off manga Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan which now has an anime and Japan live-action series on Netflix. Part 6 Stone Ocean starring Jolyne Cujoh, the daughter of Jotaro Kujo will also have an anime adaption set to release on Netflix this coming December. Now, a new spin-off prequel has just been announced.

The new spin-off manga will follow Part 4's Jōsuke Higashikata set in Moriah before he receives the name of his Stand, Crazy Diamond. No Guns Life creator Tasuku Karasuma will be drawing the artwork for the manga alongside Boogiepop author Kouhei Kadono as the writer. In celebration of the news, Tasuku Karasuma took to his personal Twitter account to further commemorate his involvement in the upcoming project by posting the official Ultra Jump magazine announcement. The magazine also announced the release of "Thus Spoke Kishibe Doesn't Move" Short Story Collection vol.4 and the one-shot manga "Magical Gentleman Beatty" based on Hirohiko Araki's earlier manga "Magical Boy Beatty".

Jōsuke is the estranged son of Joseph Joestar and uncle to Jotaro Kujo, at the beginning of Part 4 readers are introduced to Jōsuke's Stand, Crazy Diamond in his fight against Jotaro's Star Platinum. As a close-range Stand, Crazy Diamond can repair objects and living things, however is unable to heal Jōsuke himself. At 4 years old, Jōsuke suffered from a life-threatening fever, as all Joestar members do before manifesting their Stand powers, and was saved by a man with the same pompadour hairstyle as Jōsuke. Unlike Jotaro who had no recollection of his Stand, Star Platinum assuming to it be a demon, Josuke was fully aware of Crazy Diamond and how to utilize it in a fight. Since Joseph wasn't around to explain Stand powers (and Dio) to Jōsuke, as he did with Jotaro, how was Jōsuke able to control Crazy Diamond?

Jōsuke's extreme passion is what makes him a dedicated fighter in Part 4 and how he's able to employ Crazy Diamond in fights. Depending on his mood Crazy Diamond can also warp things with its punches as he first did with Jotaro's hat. Although no official title has been released for the spin-off manga, a release date has been set for December 18th in Ultra Jump's January 2022 issue. Part 8 Jojolion may have ended but Jojo's Bizarre Adventure continues to live on in upcoming anime adaptions and spin-off series soon to come.
