With the sixth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Stone Ocean, now having reached its shocking finale, fans have been treated to the animation of some of the best battle scenes in the entire series. It may even have given them the urge to go back and rewatch the whole show, which is currently streaming on Netflix.

If audiences want to see every kind of top-notch fight scene it's possible to put in a show, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure should be their first stop. From good old fisticuffs to clashes between the wildly creative Stand powers, JoJo offers a huge variety of fights, with fans taking to Reddit to share their favorites.

Jean-Pierre Polnareff And Iggy Vs. Vanilla Ice

Vanilla Ice from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Iggy’s newfound friendship with his humans leads him to take on Dio’s most powerful followers, teaming up with Polnareff to take on Vanilla Ice and his deadly void-spawning Stand. The fight is a great show of camaraderie and determination between the two, featuring the deep and passionate friendships that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is known for.

However, there may be a more tragic reason why Redditors like schmandarinorange list this fight as one of the best. Iggy sacrifices his life to help defeat Vanilla Ice, horrifying Polnareff, who had once accused Iggy of planning to abandon them out of cowardice and now was happy to fight beside the little dog.

Iggy Vs. Pet Shop

Pet Shop from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Iggy the Boston terrier is the only member of the Stardust Crusaders team who has no interest in their mission at all, and refuses to be of any help. His attitude changes when, to save a dog-loving kid, he gets into a fight with his polar opposite: DIO’s loyal, sadistic pet hawk, Pet Shop.

Redditor Paula_Polestark compares how the episode plays out to a horror movie: "Every time Iggy tries to get away it doesn't work and he's trapped again. In the sewer, waiting under the river bed, always with more deadly ice attacks, and he keeps smiling that horrible smile." But after Pet Shop severs his leg, Iggy gets his heroic second wind, fueled entirely by indignant rage, and kills the hawk.

Joseph Joestar Vs. Wamuu

A close-up of Wamuu looking pleased in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

One of the best JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure villains gives viewers one of the best fights of Battle Tendency, according to Redditors like Laserplatypus07 and Water_Bun. Wamuu is the second of the three Pillar Men that Joseph must fight to protect the world from their domination, and with Wamuu, to avenge his friend Caesar as well.

Rather than the hand-to-hand combat with which he took Esidisi on, Joseph must best Wamuu in the spectacle of a chariot race battle, where physical strength is important, but the winner is decided by quick thinking, determination, and clever exploitation of the enemy’s weaknesses.

Giorno Giovanna Vs. Cioccolata

Giorno Giovanna covered in blood and looking grimly satisfied, with Gold Experience behind him, in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Part 5 is one of the best parts in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, full of one great fight after another. Possibly the team’s most deranged enemy is Cioccolata, who wants nothing more than to murder as many people as he can, as painfully as he can, with his medical knowledge of the body and destructive Stand.

Disgusted that such a man exists, Giorno unleashes an almighty beatdown on him with Gold Experience before leaving him to die in the back of a garbage truck. In describing why they chose this fight as their favorite, Redditor SmoothOrdinator only quoted the shrieking war cries that Giorno inherited from his father Dio, followed by some choice words for Cioccolata.

Bucciarati’s Team Vs. Ghiaccio

Despite his ice-based Stand, White Album, Ghiaccio is nothing like his cooler-headed teammates on La Squadra. With the growling voice of Nobuhiko Okamoto and nigh-invulnerable protective armor, he is the worst possible obstacle that the team could have met while traveling on the river.

Redditors like clapb and astromeme point to this fight as one of the best for how Ghiaccio takes advantage in every possible way of his Stand’s ability to freeze everything from water to human bodies, to the point that they refer to it as the fight against White Album rather than against Ghiaccio himself.

Enrico Pucci Vs. Everyone

Pucci with Made In Heaven

The latest part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to be animated, Stone Ocean, treats anime-only viewers to some of the wildest fights in the series. Its final battle pulls out all the stops, pitting Jolyne and all her hard-won allies against Pucci and the culmination of his and Dio’s plans.

Redditors like iliqeatsBEANS and TalkMan12 cite this fight as the best for several reasons. There is the teamwork and trust between the heroes, the impossible strength of Pucci that requires it, and the sky-high stakes of the fight overall: should Pucci succeed, he will erase the whole world in order to achieve Heaven.

Bucciarati’s Team Vs. Prosciutto And Pesci

Pesci menacingly wielding Beach Boy's fishing rod in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Several Redditors chose one of Part 5’s standout fights as their favorite. While on a speeding train, the team is attacked by the duo of Prosciutto and Pesci, whose Stands make a horrifying combination. Prosciutto’s The Grateful Dead rapidly ages everyone on the train, and Pesci’s Beach Boy can hook into the heart of any target and fatally reel them in.

Prosciutto and Pesci’s genuine care for each other as teammates makes this fight stand out to many viewers, especially with Prosciutto’s death unlocking Pesci’s full murderous potential. Another favorite aspect, as Redditor Southern_Prompt_5823 points out, is “how the characters overcome [enemy Stands] rather than the powers themselves,” with Bucciarati twice coming within inches of death to take each of them out.

Jonathan Joestar Vs. Dio Brando

Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando confront each other in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

One of the best sibling rivalries in anime starts strong and just keeps ramping up throughout Phantom Blood. Redditor WhenTheWindIsSlow even names the point early in the part where preteen Jonathan punches Dio senseless, standing up to him for the first time, as their favorite fight in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Others such as Cyantex point to Jonathan and Dio’s ultimate confrontation as adults as the best. Jonathan has trained in swordsmanship and Hamon to become a match for Dio’s newfound vampiric power, and while other parts' heroes and villains are more complex, some fans just want a solid old-fashioned good-versus-evil smackdown.

Jotaro Kujo Vs. Dio Brando

Dio Brando from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure staring menacingly with a knife.

As Redditor IggyTheFool describes it, this fight is simply “classic and iconic.” As the final fight in the lengthy Part 3, it does not disappoint: Dio mows down all the other members of the team, leaving Jotaro to fight his family’s greatest enemy on his own. Dio is delighted to have more Joestars to kill, while Jotaro is at his most grimly determined to succeed.

Jotaro discovers the long-obscured secret of Dio’s Stand, the World, and must summon every ounce of his own strength to counter its time-stopping ability and Dio’s vampiric power. This results in what Redditor Nowhere_Man_Forever accurately describes as "complete over-the-top action which pushed JoJo from being a good manga to a legendary one."

Josuke Higashikata Vs. Kira Yoshikage

Josuke's stand, Crazy Diamond, stares down the audience.

Many fans praise the climactic battle of Diamond is Unbreakable as their favorite in the series. Armed with a Stand that heals and transforms, Josuke must take on the local serial killer Kira, whose Stand is custom-made for efficient and brutal slaughter, and who has been getting away with his crimes for decades.

Redditor LordShaxxstier points out how much buildup and weight this fight has: “A lot of people aren’t talking about the emotional connection with [Morioh] and Josuke needing to defeat Kira. [There’s] a lot of tension with all the characters affected” by the outcome of the battle.
