JoJo Siwa thanked her fans for their votes after she won the People's Choice Award for "The Competition Contestant of 2021" for her stint on Dancing With The Stars. JoJo has experience with gaining fan votes as she came in second with her partner, Jenna Johnson, during season 30. Throughout the competition, JoJo and Jenna were the frontrunners to win, earning the first perfect score of the season on Grease Night. They also delivered perfect performances during Horror Night, the semi-finals, and the finals. Even though Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach won first place, JoJo and Jenna left their mark on the show not only because of their iconic routines, but because they broke ground as the first same-sex pairing in the history of the show.
When JoJo made it all the way to the finals, it was evident that her fans had accepted her transformation from a child star to an adult performer. This People's Choice Award win further confirms that JoJo's loyal fans are willing to go the extra mile to award her for her hard work in the entertainment industry. In "The Competition Contestant of 2021" category, JoJo was nominated against some of the most popular names in reality tv including her fellow Dancing With The Stars contestant, Cody Rigsby, Matt James of The Bachelor, Katie Thurston of The Bachelorette, Gottmik and Symone of RuPaul's Drag Race, and JoJo and Wiz Khalifa of The Masked Singer. JoJo rose to the top of not only Dancing With The Stars, but the reality television world in general.
As always, JoJo was very grateful to her fans for voting for her. On Instagram, she posted a series of pictures of herself in her elegant pastel pink dress on the red carpet, on stage accepting her award, and holding her award and smiling. She wrote, "I have NO words. I am so thankful!! Tonight I won my first ever @peopleschoice award for Favorite Reality Competition Contestant for Dancing With The Stars. This award means SO much to me. Thank you to all who voted and made this dream of mine come true! This night was magical and one that I will remember forever!" JoJo's fans responded with hundreds of comments congratulating her on the much-deserved award.
Many pro dancers and contestants from Dancing With The Stars season 30 validated JoJo's win with a series of comments praising her work on the show and offering words of congratulations. These were the people who saw firsthand how hard JoJo worked to perfect her dances each week, so their words mean a lot. Pro dancer Sharna Burgess wrote, "AHHHHHHHHH!!!! So deserved you beautiful human!! Big hugs from Bri and I. CONGRATULATIONS!," referring to her dance partner and boyfriend, Brian Austin Green. Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, who was eliminated when the judges chose to save JoJo and Jenna over him and his pro partner, Witney Carson, said, "Well deserved." Pros Daniella Karagach and Cheryl Burke also offered their congratulations.
JoJo's amazing journey on Dancing With The Stars this season didn't end on finale night, as she won this People's Choice Award as well, but also changed the course of the show forever.
