JoJo Siwa is coming to the defense of a Dance Moms co-star. Jojo shot back at fellow Dance Moms alumn, Christi Lukasiak, for her recent negative comments towards the show's choreographer and coach, Gianna Martello. Christi Lukasiak is the mother of another Dance Moms dancer, Chloe Lukasiak.
Jojo Siwa was just a little girl when she started her career by staring on the hit show Dance Moms. Since then, the now 17-year-old has created quite the empire for herself. Although she does still dance she has also added singer, actress and YouTube sensation to her resume. Needless to say, JoJo is one of the more successful girls to come out of the show. Another very successful dancer from the show is Chloe Lukasiak. Chloe's mom, Christi, was known for constantly arguing with head dance instructor, Abby Lee Miller, on the show. She would constantly complain about Abby's favoritism of certain dancers. She often felt Abby did not treat her daughter Chloe in the same ways she did the other girls, specifically Maddie Ziegler. Christi and her daughter Chloe were on the show from 2011-2017 while JoJo was on the show from 2015-2019.
Although JoJo Siwa is no longer on Dance Moms, that does not mean that she no longer deals with the drama from the show. E! News reported that most recently JoJo stirred up some drama with Christi Lukasiak after Christi had some not-so-nice things to say about a dancing coach form the show, Gianna Martello. Christi was asked in a recent interview if she has spoken with Gianna recently. Christi was quick to respond, "No, Gianna's not nice." Jojo highly disagreed with Christi's description of Gianna. She took to the social media platform TikTok to defend Gianna and described the statement as "the most disgusting and ignorant thing she's ever heard." She described Gianna, who she referred to as Gia, to her 30 million TikTok followers as being a very sweet person. JoJo explained how hard Gianna truly works not just for herself but for others as well, including Christi's daughter Chloe. She even admitted that Gianna's job was one of the hardest there was on the show. She concluded the video by clarifying that no one is perfect. She pointed out that everyone has their moments of not being very nice, before finishing with, "Including you Christi."
Although JoJo was not happy about Christi's comments, she felt "it shouldn't be indicative of Christi as a whole." JoJo emphasized that there is no need to publicly say rude things about others, despite personal feelings towards them. Christi did in fact respond to JoJo's video with a TikTok of her own. In the short video, Christi admitted to not knowing what JoJo's experience on the show was like. She shared, "I have to take her word for it," referring to JoJo's positive experience with Gianna. Christi concluded by explaining she wishes she had the same experience on the show.
Who knew a show of young dancers could cause so much drama for years after? From the sounds of Christi's response video, it seems as though the Dance Moms' alumn did not intend for her original statement to come off so harshly. She was really just explaining her own personal experiences on the show. At least she responded to Jojo Siwa in a more professional manner, believing that they each could have went through their time on the show differently. Maybe it is time for them both to move past the days of Dance Moms and leave it all in the past.
