It seems like every week we're getting new casting rumors for New Moon, and this week is no different. The Twilight sequel is looking to add another 90210-er to the cast. AnnaLynne McCord is up for the role of Heidi, a "fisher" who attracts humans to be slaughtered.
Though Heidi isn't a major character in the book, she fits the role of "bait" rather well. Bella describes her as having "exceptional, unforgettable" beauty with stunning legs, long hair and violet eyes. She's said to use her looks to bring humans for the Volturi vampires to eat. The role is more of a cameo, E! Online sources say, but doesn't she fit the bill?
There wasn't any official word from McCord's rep or the studio in charge, Summit Entertainment, but she'd probably fit right in. Her 90210 costar Kellan Lutz, who's rumored to be her boyfriend in real life, already plays Emmett Cullen and will return for the sequel.
Also in Twilight news, Dakota Fanning spoke to MTV News, about playing the role of Jane. The petite blonde with an angelic-face is a perfect fit, looks-wise, she's just missing the crimson irises. Casting her as an evil Volturi guard would be a considerable leap in talent but she said "I wouldn't say it's 100 percent, but it's definitely, obviously a possibility and something that would be really cool... I really hope it works out."
If Fanning takes the role she was offered without an audition, she would have the power to inflict immense pain on those who cross her--a role quite different than any role she's had. Though she hasn't read all of Stephenie Meyer's novels yet, the child star had some knowledge of the role.
"The part that I play gets to interact with a lot of the characters, so that would be cool. [The Volturi] are kind of mean. I think it would be definitely a different part than I've ever played — and I'd get to be a little evil for once."
Director Chris Weitz is expected to start shooting next month in Vancouver and then onto Italy before the Nov. 20th release date.
