Warning: Some SPOILERS lie ahead for John Wick: Chapter 4!John Wick: Chapter 4 producer Erica Lee reveals that she wants to explore both the Bowery King and Akira in potential spin-offs. John Wick first debuted in 2014, and the world has continued to grow with each installment. The John Wick universe is expanding beyond Keanu Reeves' eponymous assassin following his Chapter 4 death with two upcoming spin-offs, the prequel series The Continental and the Ana de Armas-led movie Ballerina.

During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant for John Wick: Chapter 4, Lee reveals two characters that could be at the center of a new spin-off. She shares why the Bowery King and his world could be exciting to explore. Lee is also interested in is one of the new John Wick: Chapter 4 characters Akira. Check out Lee's thoughts about potential spin-offs below:

Erica Lee: Yeah, I think the world of the Bowery King and the Bowery is something that we're really interested in exploring more of. He sort of runs the underground, and it's such an interesting world. How does he get the guns and the boats? He shows up everywhere. He's the leader; he has homeless running the streets and information through pigeons. He's low-tech and analog in a digital world, and he knows everyone and gets everywhere. I think that is something that's really interesting to explore.

The character of Akira really pops in the movie, and I'd love to sort of see some further adventures with her character. There's a lot! There's a lot of characters in John Wick 4, and a lot of fan favorites from movies of the past. There's definitely a lot of stuff we want to dig deeper into.

How A Bowery King Movie Can Distinguish Itself From John Wick

The John Wick franchise is already expanding beyond the titular character's story with the upcoming Ballerina movie. The spin-off will be focused on a woman training to be an assassin at the same ballet academy as John Wick, who will appear in the film as well. The days before John Wick will also be explored in The Continental, which is centered around Winston and the New York Continental.

Related: The World of John Wick ExplainedThe Bowery King could be another exciting avenue to explore because his corner of the world is different from the others while still being under High Table control. The Bowery King, who has his own history with John Wick, is a key part of the intelligence gathering process. He seems to have created and uses a network of highly trained homeless people as operatives around New York. A Bowery King spin-off could explore how and why he created this low-tech intelligence gathering system.

A spin-off about the Bowery King could also pick up after Wick's death in John Wick: Chapter 4. The Bowery King, like John Wick, has issues with the High Table, which could lead to a more low-tech long game to take them down or at least extricate himself from their control. Fishburne's character teased such a plan near the final act of John Wick: Chapter 4, calling his group "La Resistance" and teasing plans to expand his operation to fight back against the High Table after he was nearly killed by them.
