The power of The High Table – the mysterious governing body of the John Wick universe – has grown across the assassin’s three films, but there are still members of the organization who are yet to be revealed in John Wick: Chapter 4 and beyond. The High Table has thus far shown that they will do anything to maintain order in the criminal underworld. This started as a major plot point in John Wick: Chapter 2 and remained the driving force behind John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

Consisting of 12 seats each held by major crime families, The High Table has been responsible for overseeing every move of the world in which Wick operates. It was for one of these prized seats that Santino D’Antonio enlisted Wick to assassinate his sister, assuming a place at the High Table in her stead. After Wick kills Santino at the end of John Wick: Chapter 2, a $14 million bounty is placed on his head leading to the introduction of other organization members – The Adjudicator, The Treasurer, The Director, and The Administrator – and the head of The High Table, The Elder.

With one member introduced in the second film, and five in the third, this leaves a further six members of the criminal organization yet to be revealed in the coming instalments of the franchise. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum ended with Wick and the Bowery King out for revenge after both suffering the wrath of The Adjudicator. Wick’s final declaration of his goal to seek vengeance on The High Table suggests that the coming two films will introduce more members of the organization to the John Wick world as well as provide further information on those who have occupied smaller roles so far, such as The Administrator and The Treasurer. Based on the most recent film, John Wick: Chapter 4 may be set to introduce a further four or five members of The High Table, leaving the fifth instalment to potentially introduce a twist in the organization’s leadership.

The High Table and the Elder in John Wick

The John Wick films have built a reputation for casting high-level action stars and martial artists in supporting roles – be that as a friend to the central assassin, or someone he faces off against. Anjelica Huston and Jerome Flynn joined Asia Kate Dillon, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Robin Lord Taylor as members of The High Table in Parabellum, and the fourth film looks set to do the same. While very little is known about the plot of the coming two films, casting announcements for John Wick: Chapter 4 may point towards other members of the governing body being revealed. Bill Skarsgård and Donnie Yen will both be starring in the fourth chapter – the latter supposedly as a friend of Wick – and Clancy Brown has teased that his role in the upcoming film is going to reveal more about The High Table.

Whatever the role these stars are going to play, it's safe to say that the next two instalments will continue to provide the franchise’s signature intense action sequences and creative kills. There is no doubt that as Wick and the Bowery King fight their way through the ranks of assassins in John Wick: Chapter 4, the film will pull back the curtain on the true power of The High Table. This can only result in the identities of the remaining six members of the criminal organization finally being revealed - much to many viewers' delight.
