Here are 25 mistakes from the John Wick franchise you totally missed. Since beginning in 2014, the action-heavy trilogy has continued to become more popular with each installment. The first film was well on its way to becoming a cult classic after a decent box office performance, and then Lionsgate still decided to move forward with a sequel. John Wick: Chapter 2 debuted in 2017 and made significantly more money. Now, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum is out in theaters and performing even better.
Each of the three John Wick movies is praised for their expertly choreographed action. These scenes range from impressive shootouts utilizing what the crew refers to as gun-fu, more traditional hand-to-hand combat, and even ones centered around dogs. With so much attention going to the near-perfect action, viewers may not have noticed a few errors that managed to make the final cuts.
In Screen Rant's latest video, we take a look at 25 of these mistakes from the John Wick franchise. The moments are usually very quick and quite a few of them revolve around items magically being restored after previously being damaged in the action. But, there are also some mistakes involving body counts, details getting lost in translation, and more. Check out the video at the top of this post for the full list of mistakes, and read on to see the biggest of all.
One of the repeated errors that viewers can more easily spot are the various things that "heal" during the action. The pillow in John Wick's Continental room from the first movie was shot but then the bullet hole is gone once the action starts. A similar fix comes to a glass panel in John Wick's house, as it is totally fine just a few seconds after shooting it. But, the item that has been most repeatedly fixed in between scenes is John's car.
These small continuity errors can be easy to miss during production, and John Wick is far from the only franchise to experience these types of mistakes. The finer details, like John's hand placement when choking out people, may be lost as different takes of the scenes happen. Thankfully, the John Wick franchise has avoided any major continuity or story errors to this point. With John Wick: Chapter 4 officially on the way and hitting theaters in 2021, we can only hope that they'll continue to do so. Maybe they'll even pay more attention to smaller details now so these types of mistakes don't continue to happen.
