John Wick: Chapter 4 has crossed a new Rotten Tomatoes milestone. The Chad Stahelski-directed sequel will see the return of Keanu Reeves as the titular character, alongside Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick. The film will also introduce Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown to the John Wick saga and potentially set up the spin-off film Ballerina and the upcoming television series The Continental in the process.

Now, on Rotten Tomatoes, the score for the film is incredibly positive and the highest-rated of the franchise thus far. As of this writing, John Wick: Chapter 4 currently holds a 93 percent approval rating from critics. Its critics' consensus states that "John Wick: Chapter 4 piles on more of everything -- and suggests that when it comes to a well-dressed Keanu Reeves dispatching his enemies in lethally balletic style, there can never be too much."

The John Wick Franchise Has Gotten Better By Each Installment

With each installment, the John Wick franchise has received better reviews. The first film opened with an 86 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, only for the subsequent films to improve as the franchise moved along. The last installment, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, had an 89 approval rating and was the highest-grossing installment of the franchise yet. Not only was each movie of the John Wick franchise better reviewed than the last, but it also made more money than the previous installments.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is not only the best-reviewed installment of the franchise so far, but it is also projected to have the highest-grossing opening of the franchise as well. Time will tell exactly how much money it will make on opening weekend, but current box office projections predict that the film will open between $60 and $70 million. This would be an incredible achievement, considering the first movie only opened at $14.4 million in American cinemas. However, it grossed a tally of $86 million worldwide once its run was completed against a modest $20 to $30 million budget, launching a highly successful action franchise.

The continued success is why Lionsgate is keen on expanding the John Wick universe not only through a film spinoff but also through the world of television. John Wick: Chapter 4 will also be the longest film of the franchise, clocking in at 169 minutes, which signals how confident the studio is that the movie is a guaranteed moneymaker. Viewers eagerly anticipate Wick's return with the franchise's biggest installment yet, as John Wick: Chapter 4 is slated to open in theaters on March 24.
