Scott Adkins is reportedly in talks to join Keanu Reeves and the cast of John Wick 4. In director Chad Stahelski’s John Wick: Chapter 4, which began production this week in Germany, Reeves will return as the eponymous assassin with an impressive action roster including Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Shamier Anderson, and Rina Sawayama in her big-screen debut. Originally, the film was given a May 21, 2021 release date but was pushed to May 27, 2022, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Deadline, action star and well-known martial artist Scott Adkins is being eyed for a role in the fourth John Wick film. Details about his potential character have not been disclosed. Adkins started out starring in direct-to-video movies like the Undisputed franchise, El Gringo, and Jarhead 3 before appearing in high-profile projects like American AssassinThe Expendables 2, Zero Dark Thirty, The Bourne UltimatumDoctor Strange, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine—where he played Ryan Reynolds’ Weapon X double. He’s currently filming the Netflix action-comedy Day Shift with Jamie Foxx, Meagan Good, and Dave Franco.

At the end of John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum, Wick suffered multiple injuries after being betrayed by Ian McShane’s Winston. John Wick: Chapter 4 should pick up where its predecessor left off with a screenplay co-written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch (American Assassin), who are taking over from franchise creator Derek Kolstad. Lionsgate has already confirmed a fifth John Wick film as well as prequel series The Continental and a female-centric spinoff directed by Len Wiseman called Ballerina. Depending upon whether or not Adkins’ character survives an encounter with Wick, being cast in John Wick 4 could easily lead to more work.
