Clancy Brown teases his mystery John Wick 4 character, saying he will reveal more about the High Table. In John Wick 4, Keanu Reeves once again stars as the legendary titular hitman, now facing his most formidable opponents yet: The High Table. Where John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum left off, Wick had just been left for dead by the all-controlling organization and his apparent ally Winston (Ian McShane). Suffering grievous injuries, Wick was brought to the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne), who looks to align himself with John in his fight to bring down the High Table.

Beyond that, little is known about John Wick 4's story. Most likely, it will find Wick and the Bowery King launching their assault on the assassin organization, whose strict rules have often put Wick in others' crosshairs. John Wick 4 will see the returns of franchise alums like McShane and Lance Riddick, while also introducing newcomers like Bill Skarsgård, Donnie Yen, Rina Sawayama, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Brown. For the most part, their characters are being kept under wraps.

That's still true, though Brown recently disclosed some interesting information about his mystery persona. Speaking to Collider about his role in Dexter: New Blood, Brown offered up a tease about where his character fits into the world of John Wick. Based on his comments, it sounds like he won't be much of a friend to Reeves' hero. Brown said:

"I will say it's more of the Table revealed. More of the High Table, the kind of intricacies of that authority structure is revealed. With my guy. And I am in a couple of scenes that you could argue are action scenes, I suppose. A lot of my scenes are with Bill Skarsgård, which was a lot of fun."

Little was revealed about Brown's John Wick 4 character when he was cast last August, so this is the most significant piece of information about him to emerge yet. If Brown will shed more light on the High Table, then it could be that he's playing a major member of the organization. John Wick: Chapter 3 introduced a few central figures from the High Table, most notably the Adjudicator (Asia Kate Dillon). While it isn't clear if they will return for John Wick 4, it seems likely that audiences will meet some of their higher-up colleagues. Brown could be the perfect fit for one such character.

As John Wick 4 was recently delayed to 2023, it might be some time before additional details about the movie emerge. The 4-year gap between Chapter 3 and the fourth film is the longest one the franchise has sustained yet, which would be concerning for other movies. However, John Wick has cemented itself as one of the most reliable franchises out there, and the cliffhanger from Chapter 3 will likely be enough to keep viewers interested. That, plus the promise that more will be revealed about the world of assassins, makes John Wick 4 a movie that might be worth the wait.
