John Malkovich has dressed up as the Joker for a photoshoot, and the results are stunning. Perhaps best known for starring in things like Being John Malkovich and Con Air, the Oscar-nominated actor has a wide range of films on his resume dating back to 1978, but his career has yet to involve a major superhero title.
As for the character of the Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime made his first appearance in DC Comics' Batman #1 in 1940. Over the years many actors have portrayed the villain in TV shows, movies, and animated features. Cesar Romero was the first actor to portray a live-action version of the Joker for Adam West's 1960s Batman TV series. Actors such as Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and Jared Leto have played the role over the years, while Mark Hamill and Troy Baker are known for voicing the Joker in animated movies and TV shows. Now, fans can get an idea of what Malkovich would look like as the famous Batman villain.
There has always been debate as to which actor gave the best performance as the Joker, but Nicholson's version from Tim Burton's 1989 Batman was chosen as the inspiration for Sandro Miller's photo shoot. While comic fans will recognize Malkovich as the Joker, the photographer also recreated other portraits with Malkovich including Dorothea Lange's Migrant Mother and several other famous portraits. Images of Malkovich as the Joker and some of Miller's other portraits can be found in the post below from Twitter user Gray.

Malkovich has been acting for the past 40 years, but he doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Malkovich has several other projects coming up in 2019, including movies such as Velvet Buzzsaw, Eve, and El Tonto. The actor will also be appearing in the bio-pic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which stars Zac Efron as notorious serial killer Ted Bundy. Malkovich has guaranteed people will still be talking about him for years to come, as he also filmed the movie 100 Years, which won't be released until the year 2115.
While Joaquin Phoenix will be playing Arthur Fleck in Todd Phillips' Joker in 2019, one can't help but imagine what Malkovich would have been like in the villainous role. The actor has proven to be a diverse and unique actor during his career, but the closest he's gotten to appearing in a major superhero movie was the widely panned comic book adaptation Jonah Hex back in 2010. Even though Malkovich may not be playing the Joker in any of the upcoming DC films, fans can now imagine what a world with Malkovich as the villain would be like.
