John Legend from The Voice was involved in a Twitter feud with Mark Cuban and a journalist, and the argument related to Georgia's election results. The Voice coach openly supported Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election. However, two Senate seats hang in the balance and will be subject to a run-off election.

Cuban, who is a billionaire investor on Shark Tank, implored his followers to consider humanity over politics this season. He has been vocal about his belief that the Trump administration should give every American $2,000 a month in stimulus payments, to offset the financial burdens of the coronavirus crisis. John Legend has asked his fans to consider the need for improved legislation, so better long-term decisions can be made for Americans during tough times.

Cuban's initial comment was posted on November 12. It read: "For those considering donating to Reps or Dems in the Georgia Senate run-offs, can you please re-consider and donate that money to your local foodbank and organizations that can help those without food or shelter? Lets put Americans in need above Politics." Legend disagreed with Mark Cuban's post, and let him know about it.  Legend posted: "I get that politics is annoying and contentious, but the bottom line is that the Senate flipping would be far more impactful than a food bank donation. We need massive stimulus and aid to individuals and small businesses. Government needs to do this. Charity isn’t sufficient." He later told telling the billionaire that he would be divvying up his own money both ways. See John Legend's tweet below:

The commentary didn't stop there. Several journalists and political pundits threw their comments into the fray, sparking a huge debate on Legend's Twitter page. The singer eventually smoothed over the vitriolic content in a diplomatic way. Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen are both activists and have been very vocal in their support of the Democratic party. During his Twitter debate with Mark Cuban, Legend even alluded to his support of one-time candidate Elizabeth Warren. Cuban has been less obvious about his political leanings. He's been highly critical of the Trump Administration, despite reports that he was in contention for the vice presidency back in 2016. He's also gone on record about his disdain for Joe Biden as a presidential candidate. The famed entrepreneur teases fans and the business world about a potential political run, although he has yet to announce any concrete plans.

It's exciting to see John Legend so passionate about his political stance. He and Mark Cuban have voiced their respective concerns for the country and its people. While there's no right or wrong answer in this debate, it's just a relief that celebrities are using their platforms to start a much-needed dialogue about getting the country back on track during these contentious times. In the end, Legend from The Voice's admission that he will lend his money to both ideas is a commendable one. This way, people and politics benefit.
