John Boyega teases a new Pacific Rim Uprising trailer will be released soon. Guillermo Del Toro introduced audiences to a new world in 2013, when Pacific Rim gave new reason for giant robots to fight giant monsters. The first film performed very well overseas, and it is largely thanks to the international markets that a sequel is coming. Pacific Rim Uprising will see the franchise take the next step, as it introduces new Jaegers, new Kaiju, new stars, and a new director.

Leading the charge is Boyega, who is now stepping into the leading role after breaking out in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He's joined by Scott Eastwood, Rinko Kikuchi, Cailee Spaeny, and others. Prior to marketing kicking off last October, many wondered what vision director Steven S. DeKnight would bring. The reaction to the first trailer was good, but it is almost time to get another look.

Trailer-Track reported this week that a new trailer has been classified with a runtime of 2 minutes and 24 seconds. There was no word on when the trailer would be arriving, but the classification indicates it could come any day. Thanks to John Boyega, it appears the trailer will be coming very soon, possibly even within the next week.

You guys deserve another Pacific Rim trailer tbh.....soon....soon— John Boyega (@JohnBoyega) January 20, 2018

When the new trailer drops, it will be important for the reactions to be positive. Uprising hits theaters at the end of March, so there isn't that much time left to get people excited. Outside of future TV spots - possibly even at the Super Bowl - this new trailer could wind up actually being the final one. Legendary has gone months without one after all, so unless they plan to squeeze two trailers in in the next two months, whatever the new trailer holds could be it.

The first trailer did a good job showing how much humanity and the Pan Pacific Defense Corps have evolved since the Battle of the Breach. Uprising is introducing multiple new Jaegers, and with the first trailer showing a glimpse of each's unique abilities, the upcoming trailer could expand upon that. The biggest thing that the second trailer could show that would be of benefit may be further story details. We know Boyega plays the son of Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba), but what the plot of the movie is - beyond just monsters fighting robots - hasn't been clearly shown. After all, they do have hopes that Uprising will help kick off an even bigger universe, so the pressure is already on it to deliver.
