Milo Murphy's Law welcomes guest star Joel McHale (Community) to the show, as inventor and tech expert, Victor, in its newest episode, and Screen Rant has an exclusive clip. Following Milo Murphy, the unfortunate descendant of Edward A. Murphy (Murphy's law namesake), Milo Murphy's Law has become a firm favorite for viewers of Disney XD.
The show hails from Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, who also created Phineas and Ferb and indeed, the two shows share the same universe and are set to crossover in an episode set to arrive in 2018. Before that, though, McHale will guest star on the show, but is his character really as much of a tech expert as he seems? He might think his robot is equipped to deal with all sorts of issues, but he's obviously never encountered Milo before. Take a look at the video above, and check out McHale's Instagram post below.
Hi. Watch me as inventor/tech expert, Victor(he lost my last name in a grease fire), in Tuesday's episode of #MiloMurphysLaw on #DisneyXD Its a lot like @billyeichner's story arc on #americanhorrorstory
Once again poor Milo ends up with everything going wrong, and his friends are so well prepared that they have safety goggles on hand, but his eternal optimism keeps the story upbeat and entertaining. Victor is upbeat and happy too; provided he's beating the life out of a robot with a hockey stick, of course. He's not so enamored with Milo's questions for the robot; his machine isn't quite high-tech enough to deal with questions, just card tricks and souffles, it seems.
Milo has a great habit of turning his bad luck into an exciting adventure of one kind or another, usually with Melissa and Zack along for the ride. While others think he's down on his luck, Milo thinks his life is far more exciting than the existence of an ordinary kid. Others don't see it the same way, though, and we'll find out whether Victor sees Milo's luck as a blessing or a curse when the episode airs.
It's the kind of humor on display in the clip above that makes Milo Murphy's Law appeal to such a broad audience. McHale is the perfect guest addition to an already talented voice cast that includes 'Weird' Al Yancovic as Milo, Sabrina Carpenter as Melissa Chase, Milo's best friend, and Mekai Curtis as Zack Underwood, Milo's other bff. While technically Disney XD's target audience is 6-14, it actually extends much wider than that. Its shows are enjoyed by adults and kids alike, and with DuckTales and Big Hero 6: The Series arriving on the channel this year, plus the aforementioned Milo Murphy's Law/ Phineas and Ferb crossover due next year, there's never been a better time for adults to enjoy kids TV.
Milo Murphy's Law continues on Disney XD this Tuesday, September 26th.
