A new Jigsaw themed escape room is heading to New York Comic Con and those who survive can cherish a brand new poster and bragging rights. The horror property about a serial killer who twists victims with traps encouraging to maim themselves in order to learn to "cherish their lives" returns to theaters in October.

Ten years have passed since John Kramer's games have gone dark, but a collection of new participants find themselves once again in the killer's Rube Goldberg devices and facing a new game. Now New York convention goers will have an opportunity to join them in the games and test their will to survive.

According to EW, the escape room will be called Jigsaw: Survive the Trap. It will be located in front of the Javits Center in the NYCC gates and welcome teams of two from October 5th through the 8th. The experience will feature virtual reality immersion as well as real-world traps. Participating teams must work together to solve the puzzles before time runs out for their party. Fans who survive the experience will get a copy of the official IMAX poster designed by Taz, as well a ticket to see the film. Additional swag for the horror film will be given out throughout the convention, highlighting the horror property's return to cinemas. Check out the poster below.

In addition to the escape room, Jigsaw will be encouraging others to give at the Jigsaw Blood Drive, which welcomes any and all types of blood donors and is using their star power to highlight blood donation and the inequalities faced by the LGBT community. The blood drive kicks off the same weekend as the convention. Interested donors can head to 11th avenue and West 36th street where you'll also be able to get a ticket for the film.

The inclusion of an escape room to the franchise that one could argue popularized the escape room and introduced people to traps and Rube Goldberg devices is a smart move. It gives fans a chance to immerse themselves in a franchise that has grossed over $220 million at the box office. Just how Jigsaw will stack up to other franchise installments remains to be seen. The Final Chapter of the series grossed a paltry $45 million at the box office domestically.

Saw 3D grossed $136 million at the worldwide box office, however, and the franchise will be returning to the delight of horror fans around the world. Fans should head to New York Comic Con and pick up their ticket to get immersed in the franchise and see if they have what it takes to truly survive. The Jigsaw escape room debuts at New York Comic Con along with the blood drive.
