Netflix's newest matchmaking series, Jewish Matchmaking, gives viewers a look into the lives of Jewish singles like Ori Basly and Karin Lang, who are looking for love with the help of matchmaker, Aleeza Ben Shalom. While matchmaking may seem like an old-fashioned concept, with the rise of dating apps and non-traditional "meet cutes," many are falling back on matchmakers to find people they can get serious with. For Aleeza, who specializes in matchmaking among members of the Jewish faith in several parts of the US, helping someone find a match who understands and shares their values is a top priority.

Much like the Netflix series Indian Matchmaking, throughout the season, Aleeza introduces her clients to several options, facilitating dates between singles like Ori and Karin. Ori, whom viewers first meet early in the season, is a 30-year-old event planner. He is originally from Israel, and is shown having a close-knit relationship with his mother, who makes sure that Aleeza knows that her son is picky when it comes to his dates. Never one to back down with difficult clients, Aleeza seemed determined to find Ori a match. Karin seemed like a viable option.

Did These Jewish Matchmaking Season 1 Stars Break Up?

Ori's requests for Aleeza (when it came to a match) were somewhat difficult to find, but he was interested in someone who was blonde and blue-eyed, shared his values, and would be able to handle his intense relationship with his mother. A potential match should live in the Los Angeles area. However, viewers thought that Aleeza found a great match for Ori in Karin, an LA-based lawyer who loves to travel. The pair seemed to hit it off on their date, and both seemed hopeful about their future together. Nonetheless, based on their social media presence, it seems the couple parted ways after appearing on Jewish Matchmaking.

Are Ori Basly & Karin Lang On Social Media?

Karin's Instagram is public, and offers an inside look into what she's doing with her life, which may help to provide some reasoning surrounding her and Ori's relationship ending. After graduating from law school, Karin decided to take time to decompress and travel. Her Instagram bio currently reads, "Traveling for the next year with the goal of visiting every country on continental South America." Based on her photos, it seems like she's traveling solo. Ori, on the other hand, has a private Instagram account that shows he's still living in L.A., and working as an event planner. Based on their social media presence, it's unlikely the pair are currently together.

Why These Jewish Matchmaking Cast Members Stood Out

While he was a difficult participant, Ori was definitely a standout part of Jewish Matchmaking season 1. His strong opinions and high level of self-confidence can be attractive qualities, though at times they can potentially feel a bit unearned. Karin was also a standout single on Jewish Matchmaking, as a beautiful and accomplished woman who clearly knew her self-worth. Though their match wasn't a lasting one, it's clear that Aleeza was on the right track for both sides of the equation.
