The first synopsis for season 2 of Jessica Jones teases Jessica digging into her own past. Jessica Jones was one of the first Marvel series to debut on Netflix, but viewers will have to wait three years between then and her sophomore season. She hasn't been completely forgotten about thanks to a role in The Defenders. Jessica is far from a team player, but she (and fans) are looking forward to seeing what story will be told when she is on her own.

Season 2 of Jessica Jones should be next up on the docket for Marvel and Netflix. Production wrapped earlier this year and put it on track for an early 2018 release. With The Punisher now out, both companies can start to put the focus on Jessica, and it doesn't sound like the story will be any easier on her this time around.

Digital Spy released the first synopsis for Jessica Jones season 2 that details a much more well-known Jessica, who is looking into her own life as well. The search to find out who she really is is brought about from one of her new cases. Plus, a new photo could tease her looking into IGH.

New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why.

Season 1 laid the seed for IGH to be a much bigger part of Jessica Jones as the show continued. The mysterious company is responsible for paying Jessica's hospital bills following the car crash that killed her parents and brother. Speculation has also pointed to them being partially responsible for Jessica getting powers to begin with. The new case that kickstarts this journey for Jessica has yet to be revealed.

Keeping the focus squarely on Jessica is no surprise. Ritter said previously that this season is just as personal as the first. If she's investigating her own life, there's no telling what secrets she'll uncover. Somehow, we know David Tennant's Kilgrave will factor in. Jessica won't be alone on this journey, as Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), Malcolm (Eka Darville), and Jerri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) should provide some assistance. She is still largely a character who would rather go at it alone, so don't expect a full on team-up. Jessica has done that already in The Defenders, and now its time to learn more about just her.
