Jessica Jones NYCC Poster Teases Mystery Address - What Does it Mean?

The New York Comic-Con 2015 poster for Netflix's Jessica Jones reveals the location of Alias Investigations - but what does it mean?

With Jessica Jones coming into Netflix in less than two months (at the time of writing this), Marvel Studios has been intensifying promotion for the Netflix series with multiple teaser trailers over the past few weeks. The studio is making sure that fans will know Jessica Jones’ (Krysten Ritter) name before November with new promotions, with their arrival specifically timed around the 2015 New York Comic Con festivities.

As part of their promotion, Marvel has been giving out free Uber rides in custom Daredevil and Jessica Jones SUVs for today only and giving out the comic book tie-in at the Marvel booth. However, it’s a new Jessica Jones poster that has been garnering fans attention with concept art of the new hero by artist Alex Maleev (who is known for his work on Marvel’s Daredevil comic series with Brian Michael Bendis).

You can check out the Jessica Jones comic book tie-in cover below, followed by the NYCC poster:

Jessica Jones Netflix series - NYCC Poster

As fans clamor over the new poster, many noticed a very specific address on the poster for Jones’ detective agency, Alias Investigations. 485 W 46th Street, New York, NY 10036 is within walking distance of the Javits Center, the home of NYCC. However, our own managing editor Ben Kendrick stopped by the location, there was nothing notable to be seen and no building marked with the 485 address.

Here's the location in question, for those who are curious:

While we haven’t found anything at the poster’s address today, never underestimate Marvel’s ability to surprise fans. With the Netflix Original series Netflix’s Daredevil and Netflix’s Jessica Jones panel tomorrow at the Con, Marvel and Netflix could be planning something special. For the past few days, the official Jessica Jones twitter account has been asking fans for their fan art for a special surprise tomorrow. Could that be incorporated with the address on the poster?

Welcome Jessica Jones to #NYCC2015. Create your very own #JJFanArt and you might get a special surprise.

While it’s entirely possible that Marvel made up a fictional address only for the purpose of the poster, it’s always possible that there could be a surprise waiting fans tomorrow. If you’re looking for a short break from NYCC or need a little bit of fresh air, head on over to 485 W 46th Street, New York, NY 10036 to see if there’s any Jessica Jones promotional material to be found.

NEXT: How Jessica Jones Will Differ From Daredevil

Daredevil season one is currently available on Netflix. Jessica Jones will be made available starting November 20th, 2015, followed by Luke Cage season one and Daredevil season two (a.k.a. Daredevil V Punisher) in 2016. Iron Fist and The Defenders will arrive sometime thereafter.
