Will Jessica Jones Appear In Daredevil: Born Again?

Reports of Jessica Jones' MCU return have swirled since this past summer, when Charlie Cox was confirmed to be returning as Matt Murdock/Daredevil for this year's Disney+ series Echo, a spinoff of Hawkeye in which Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin appeared. The story details in said casting report indicated that Cox's blind attorney would be searching for an unspecified former ally, with a later report indicating that said ally was Ritter's Jones. While no other Netflix characters have been confirmed to be returning at the time of writing, Ritter has frequently expressed her hopes to bring Jessica back to the screen, namely after Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Should the reports of Matt looking for Jessica in Echo prove to be true, it seems likely Ritter's Jessica Jones will be seen in next year's Daredevil: Born Again. Considering filming on the Disney+ project is expected to begin in February, Ritter getting back into superhero shape now would make sense, giving her ample time to get ready for any action scenes to come from the show, be they flashbacks or present day storylines. Not much is known about the story of Daredevil: Born Again, as Cox has not only teased that the show may not follow Frank Miller's comic book storyline of the same name, but that it would be a "whole new thing" rather than season 4 of the Netflix series.

Given Hawkeye saw D'Onofrio's Kingpin out of prison without an explanation of his being released between the Disney+ show and Daredevil season 3, Cox's upcoming show could go a long way to helping explain where Ritter's Jessica Jones has been since her show came to an end. With Cox's Murdock seen as a practicing attorney once again in both Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it may be just as simple to bring Jessica back as an investigator on a case with Matt, or even one working in opposition of one of his client's. Only time will tell if Ritter's Jessica Jones is gearing up for her return when Echo premieres later this year and Daredevil: Born Again arrives in early 2024.
