Warning! Spoilers for The Variant #2 by Marvel Comics

Marvel's newest Captain America is facing off against her variant, as Jessica Jones takes on the shield-wielding hero in a new Marvel Comics preview. In the first look at The Variant #2 from Gail Simone and Phil Noto, Jones takes on two of her variants, including one version of Captain America, who isn't scared to take her Earth-616 counterpart. Unfortunately, things get even messier when Jones' daughter Dani interrupts the confrontation.

In her new Marvel Comics miniseries, The Variants, Jessica Jones will be encountering different versions of herself seemingly from across the Multiverse. In the debut issue, Jones struggled with passing out as she watched the trial of a woman who was under the control of her abuser, Killgrave. After meeting with the victim, Jones is told Killgrave put a trap in her mind that will soon go off. However, as she tries to deal with the confusing revelation, Jessica Jones runs into a variant of herself who is Captain America, equipped with her own shield, as she realizes she's having a full-blown crisis.

In a new preview for The Variants #1 by Gail Simone, Phil Noto, and VC's Clayton Cowles, Jessica Jones sits in pain on the ground after getting hit by her variants shield, as another variant winces beside her. Captain America tells both Jessicas to stand down, as the main version of the hero holds back in attacking her knowing the potential damage she could cause. However, the encounter is interrupted by Jones' daughter Dani, leading Jessica to knock down one of her variants for scaring her kid.

In an epic threat towards the shield-wielding Jessica Jones, the Earth-616 variant tells her that she's in the most dangerous real estate in the world. When Captain America suggests she means "Hell's Kitchen" and that she's "not scared," the main Jessica tells her, no, she means the small patch of carpet between "my husband and his daughter." Jessica Jones is willing to do anything to protect her daughter, and it's safe to assume her husband, Luke Cage, who is likely in another room, is willing to do the same.

Ambushing Jessica Jones at her home might not have been the smartest idea for the shield-bearing version of the hero and her other variant, but it seems both are just as confused about why they are there as her. So can Jessica Jones make Captain America and her other variant come to an understanding, or are fireworks about to break out in the Jones/Cage household? The Variants #2 by Marvel Comics is in stores Wednesday.
