From now on, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation will never be the same. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi announced that she's leaving the show.

Polizzi discussed the reasoning for her departure on the December 6 episode of the podcast she co-hosts with friend Joey Camasta. Polizzi explained that her family, the drama on the show, and how she's portrayed weighed heavily on her decision.

According to It's Happening With Snooki & Joey (via: Us Weekly), Polizzi stated, “I am not coming back to Jersey Shore [Family Vacation] for a season 4, if there is one. And there’s a lot of reasons why, but the main reason is really … I’m just like, I just can’t do it anymore." Whenever she films, she leaves behind husband Jionni LaValle and their three children, Lorenzo (7), Giovanna (5), and Angelo (6 months). “I hate being away from the kids,” she says, adding:

“I don’t like partying three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. And I wanna be home with the kids. You know, like, I don’t mind a here and there going to a dinner or whatever, but it’s just really hard on me to leave the kids and film the show.”

The constant partying and being away from her family wasn't the only reason Polizzi decided to call it quits. The drama has only intensified between Polizzi, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, and Angelina Pivarnick. Last season, the trio got into a few heated arguments, one resulting in Polizzi removing herself from the house for the night. She came back the next day, but this is proof that she's been having these feelings of leaving the show for some time. Polizzi also said, “When I leave my kids and I film the show, like, I want to have a good time. And I’m putting myself out there, and I just wanna come off as a good person. And lately, on the show, it’s just been very drama.

This isn't the first time Polizzi has tried to leave the show for good. She claims that every time a new season starts to film, she tries to remove herself, going on to say “Our show, Jersey Shore, is about family, and about making fun of each other, and having a good time and laughing and just knowing that it’s all in good fun. And lately, it’s just like, everything is so serious." Polizzi also addressed the way she feels the show is making her out to look. “I just don’t like the turnout of it, and I don’t like the person I’m portrayed as.” Fans have an understanding that shows like this are heavily edited to tell stories in a certain way, but it's easy to understand how that kind of storytelling can break a person down.

She might be the start of a new trend, as 2019 was a wild year for the entire cast of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Farley went through a rough divorce; Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino served time in jail; Ronnie Ortiz-Magro struggled through his on-again/off-again relationship with ex-girlfriend Jen Harley and spent some time in a recovery facility. It would be understandable if others decided to step away from the show, or if this was really the end of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation altogether. After all, these guidos and meatballs have been at this for ten years.
