Jersey Shore's The Situation has been given an official prison release date. The reality star will naturally be anxious to rejoin the outside world, looking forward to spending quality time with his wife and family.

The New Jersey native who attended Manalapan High School became famous after his casting on MTV’s Jersey Shore, where cameras followed eight roommates around the Seaside Heights boardwalk, recording their crazy antics. The Jersey Shore roommate was not the only Sorrentino indicted in the charges, his brother Mark was also charged with tax evasion and filing false tax document, he received two years in federal prison and is scheduled for release in 2020.

According to NJ.com, The Situation is set to be released from federal prison in Otisville, New York on Thursday, September 12, which was confirmed by his publicist. The reality star had been sentenced to eight months behind bars after he was charged with one count of tax evasion in January 2018. The Situation reported to the federal prison in January while live-streaming his journey to upstate New York, which he shared his thoughts with his fans. The reality star currently lives in Long Branch, home to Monmouth University. The Jersey Shore star’s former inmates had included Michael Cohen, who is best known for working with US President Donald Trump, and Fyre Festival’s Billy McFarland, who was in charge of setting up the fake musical festival.

Before Sorrentino’s trouble with the law began, MTV had already cleared the renewal of Jersey Shore, so the network decided to use his sentencing and potential jail time as a major story for the new season. Even though the reality star had suffered from immense legal trouble, the show flourished and is now in its third season, filming between Las Vegas and New Jersey. The series filmed the rest of the cast supporting Sorrentino on his sentencing date in Newark, NJ and taking him on an outdoor camping vacation before he was due to surrender himself.

While fans of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation watched Sorrentino marry the love of his life, Lauren, and get dropped off at jail, the new season will hopefully cover his release from the federal prison. Fans want to see how The Situation recovers from the possibly traumatic experience and how he will move forward. One thing is for sure, the roommates will be overjoyed at the news of his release and may even bake a funfetti cake for him in honor of the monumental occasion.
