Now that Jersey Shore alum Ronnie Ortiz-Magro is no longer a part of the cast, there is the possibility that Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola will return to the franchise to take his place. Sammi was a part of every season of the original series. During the six seasons, she was involved in an on-again-off-again relationship with Ronnie. After the show ended, the two called it quits for good. While Ronnie did return for the spin-off series Jersey Shore: Family Vacation six years later, Sammi opted out. She wanted to avoid drama with her ex.
Earlier this month, Ronnie announced that he will be stepping away from the show. He wants to get help so he can better himself as a person and a father. This news came just one month after Ronnie was arrested due to domestic violence allegations involving his current girlfriend, Saffire Matos. He was later released on $100,000 bail. However, as a consequence of his recent arrest, he received backlash from fans. He was ultimately removed from the upcoming season.
Now, there is an opening for Sammi to return to the show alongside her former roommates. Rumors have recently been circulating about Sammi and her fiancé Christian Biscardi calling off their wedding. Sammi was praised for allegedly splitting up with him. While this is unfortunate for the couple if it's true, it would open up Sammi's schedule. She might be available to make a return to the show. Aside from the wedding planning that she was doing before the rumors broke, Sammi has been keeping busy since the show came to an end. She has her own online store and is working on opening up a new boutique this summer. While opening up a store takes a lot of time and dedication, Sammi would likely be able to balance that task with filming the show. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley already do the same thing.
Since the majority of the original cast returned for the spin-off series, many fans have been hoping for Sammi's return; however, they understand why she decided to distance herself from the show. Some of her supporters have even petitioned for her to do a Tell-All, where she could share her thoughts about the drama that has taken place over the years. Now that there is potential for her to return to the show, fans would prefer to see that happen instead. When the spin-off series premiered back in 2018, Sammi was adamant about not being involved. This was mostly because of Ronnie. Since Ronnie would no longer be a part of filming, Sammi would not feel uncomfortable being with the cast.
She allegedly still gets along with the majority of her Jersey Shore costars. While it is unknown if Ronnie's time away from the show will be permanent or just temporary, fans would rather see Sammi on the show than him. Perhaps she will make a small cameo appearance on an upcoming episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. That would thrill the show's viewers.
