Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, from Jersey Shore, has had a tough year. He's been in and out of a tumultuous relationship with girlfriend Jen Harley, spent some time in rehab, and more recently charged for kidnapping and domestic violence. Does he deserve a comeback?

Ortiz-Magro started dating Harley in 2017, welcoming their daughter Arianna in April of 2018. Their toxic relationship has often resulted in headlines surrounding their all too frequent, sometimes violent arguments. Both have a history of getting physical with each other, like the time Harley dragged Ortiz-Magro with her car, or the other time Ortiz-Magro threatened to kill Harley. Unfortunately, the two have had more bad times than good.

On October 4, Ortiz-Magro and Farley got into an argument that resulted in numerous charges, including domestic violence, kidnapping, and unlawfully depriving Harley of her personal liberty, and resisting arrest. Ortiz-Magro was accused of resisting his arrest and being violent as a result of drug use. Arianna wasn't hurt during the conflict, but Ortiz-Magro was issued an emergency protective order until his court hearing on October 11. According to People, Ortiz-Magro's team later stated he had been misrepresented. His lawyers claimed that the charges were based on speculation. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office conducted an investigation and later released a statement that said the City Attorney’s Office had no plans to review Ortiz-Magro’s case in the future.

The October incident may seem like the straw that broke the camels back, but there were a few other altercations between Ortiz-Magro and Harley earlier this year. After an explosive argument at a Las Vegas nightclub on New Year's Eve, Ortiz-Magro checked himself into rehab, blaming his chaotic lifestyle and the drama surrounding his relationship with Harley. "I just want to be a better role model for my daughter. I want my daughter to look at me and be proud of me, but I need help," he said. Ortiz-Magro only spent about a month in the rehabilitation center.

While it's not clear who is right and who is wrong in this situation, fans have witnessed the highs and the lows of Ortiz-Magro's relationship with Harley. What is clear is the fact that Ortiz-Magro has been battling internal demons for some time. Jersey Shore fans thought he was taking a step in the right direction upon checking into a wellness facility, a la Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. Now, in light of his recent arrest, many are wondering if Ortiz-Magro is as reformed as he claims to be. Ortiz-Magro gained support back when he was dating Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, another tumultuous relationship that resulted in a lot of physical and mental toxicity. While we may never know what happened between him and Harley in October, it is the hope of many fans that Ortiz-Magro will eventually find peace.
