Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is celebrating six years of being sober. Like most of his co-stars, Mike was a party animal throughout the original series of the show. Unfortunately, Mike took his partying to the next level which ultimately led to his battle with addiction.

After becoming a breakout star on Jersey Shore, Mike went on to face his battle with addiction behind the cameras. Following the conclusion of the final season of the show, Mike went on a four-year journey to better both his health and his life. By his side through it all was his now wife Lauren Sorrentino. Upon returning for the spinoff series in 2018, Mike was newly sober.  While returning to filming with his former roommates would be a challenge, they were all respectful and supportive of Mike's newfound sobriety.

Now, Mike is celebrating a major milestone. Mike took to Instagram on Wednesday, December 1 to reveal he is six years sober. Mike, who is typically a man of many words, kept the celebratory post simple. The generic image read, "6 Years Clean and Sober." In the caption Mike wrote, "Today we celebrate being a champion." Back in January, Mike received a medallion for his fifth year of sobriety. While Mike kept the post short and sweet, his friends and family praised him in the comments. Lauren is "incredibly proud" of her husband. She wrote, "You’re the most amazing husband, father & human that I know!" The account for the couple's newborn son, which is assumed to be ran by Lauren, wrote, "Proud of my daddy." Take a look at the milestone post below.

Two days prior to sharing his sobriety milestone, Mike posted a family photo that included a lengthy caption. Mike reflected on how difficult holidays were during his time of addiction. He wrote, "When I was using, the holidays were always very difficult. I was there physically, but not spiritually and emotionally." Now, Mike can happily and healthily celebrate the holidays with his wife and son. As he continues on his sobriety journey, Mike is thankful to be able to celebrate his family's love during the holiday season. Mike even gave himself a pat on the back by saying, "My biggest flex in life is being a sober dad and husband." The adorable photo of Mike, Lauren and their son Romeo is assumed to have been taken during their recent trip to film season 5 of the show.

Longtime Jersey Shore fans have watched Mike's journey throughout the years. Many know how big of an accomplishment it is for him to have made this transformation in his life. In addition to this, Mike is now in a place where he can still film alongside his roommates while also living a healthy and happy life. Congratulations to Mike on this milestone.
