Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino says Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is one of the "best" shows in "reality TV history." Mike, along with his fellow roomies, all reunited in 2018 for the spinoff series of the hit MTV show Jersey Shore. Many of the cast members had not spoken in quite some time prior to the reunion; however, they have since become one united family again.

Mike was one of the two breakout stars of the original series back in 2009. He and the rest of the cast became overnight sensations when the series first premiered. They, as well as a majority of the production team, never imagined the show would have such an impact on pop culture at the time. The group filmed six seasons together before the series came to an end. As they all parted ways, some of the roommates drifted apart and stopped speaking to each other for quite some time. Then, seven years later, they hashed out their past differences as they reunited for the spinoff series. Similar to the original show, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation has been just as successful for the cast despite the changes in format due to the cast growing older and starting families.

With filming for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 5 already underway, Mike is bragging about the success the series has had over the last 12 years. On a recent episode of his podcast "Here's The Sitch With Mike and Laurens" Mike and his wife Lauren Sorrentino discussed the show as a whole. During their conversation, Mike claimed, "Jersey Shore is one of the best shows in reality TV history," to which his wife agreed. As for the spin-off series, Mike believes, "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is one of the best shows on MTV, in MTV history.” Lauren joined the cast in filming for the show during the first season of the spinoff series.

Mike admitted that the show's success was a surprise to everyone. In fact, he said, "Back in the day, they thought that our show was going to be a one and done." This was obviously not the case; however, the show as a whole has changed an awful lot over the last 12 years. The roommates have all grown as they settled down in committed relationships and started families of their own. Because of this, the overall format of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is quite different than that of the original series. Despite this, the show is still successful. Mike believes this is due to his amazing co-stars. He bragged, "All those guys, my whole cast including everyone in that show, they know exactly what to do when they are in front of a camera and they’ve been doing it for over a decade. So kudos to my castmates."

As the cast gears up for season 5 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, there is no denying that the show has been extremely successful over the years. If the show continues to have this much success in the upcoming season, there is a high potential everyone's favorite roommates will continue to be on TV every jerzday for quite some time to come. Luckily, the production team has been working with the cast's busy schedules as parents to keep filming flowing more easily and ultimately making the roommates want to continue on with the show.
