Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and his wife, Lauren Sorrentino, are officially parents. The couple welcomed their first son into the world on Wednesday before later making the announcement on Instagram Thursday. In 2020, Lauren became pregnant before later suffering a miscarriage. After opening up about their battle to get pregnant, the couple announced they were expecting during the previous season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

Lauren was actually pregnant at the same time as the couple's co-star Deena Cortese. Jersey Shore's Deena recently welcomed her second son into the world just a few short weeks ago. As Lauren and Mike prepared for the birth of their first son, they were just as excited to celebrate Deena's son. Lauren has continued to give updates throughout her pregnancy on the Instagram account made specifically for Baby Situation, even up until the final days before his birth.

After pushing through 39 weeks of pregnancy, Lauren has finally given birth to her and Mike's first son. The couple shared the first photo of their baby boy to Baby Situation's Instagram page Thursday. Their baby was born on Wednesday, May 26. Mike and Lauren named their son Romeo Reign Sorrentino. Prior to his birth, many fans had speculated that the baby was going to have a name that started with an 'R' after Jersey Shore's Lauren posted a selfie while wearing an 'R' initial necklace. Romeo measured 19 inches and weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. at the time of his birth. Lauren and Mike wrapped him in a blanket with his name printed all over it before laying a name sign on top of him for his first photo op. Take a look at his adorable photo below.

Just moments after sharing the photo to Baby Situation's Instagram page, both Lauren and Mike shared even more pictures from inside the hospital on their respective accounts. Earlier this week, in her last baby update prior to giving birth, Lauren explained that there was a chance she was going to need to have a C-section because the baby was breached. It is perceived that she did in fact receive a C-section from the look of the photos. Despite the change of plans, the first-time parents were all smiles while posing for the camera moments after their son had been born. Prior to Romeo's arrival, Jersey Shore's Lauren shared one last photo from her pregnancy photo shoot on Instagram. Now Mike and Lauren could not be any happier to have their son here with them.

From what the couple has been sharing on their Instagram accounts lately, Mike and Lauren are assumed to have been filming all the way up until the day Lauren gave birth. Many fans are hoping that the details and events leading up to the arrival of baby Romeo will be seen throughout the upcoming seasons of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Congratulations to the new parents.
