Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino thinks the kids of the Jersey Shore cast need a spin-off show of their own sometime down the road, but not any time soon. Fans will have to wait around for about 20 years before they can see a spin-off about the next generation of meatballs. A majority of the cast now have kids of their own or have a baby on the way. Mike and his wife, Lauren Sorrentino, are currently expecting their first son together. Lauren is due to have their baby in May.

Lauren revealed to the rest of the roommates that she was pregnant during their 2020 trip to Vegas, which was later seen on season four of the show. Earlier in the season, Deena Cortese also announced her second pregnancy. The moms are due just days apart. Lauren and Mike recently celebrated the upcoming birth of their first son with close family and friends at their intimate baby shower. The couple had some difficulties getting pregnant after Lauren miscarried in 2019, not long after Mike returned home from his prison sentencing.

As Mike prepares to become a dad, he already has plans for his mini Situation to follow in (some) of his footsteps. Mike and Lauren shared their excitement for baby Sorrentino on the E! talk show Daily Pop. During the virtual interview, the show's co-host, Justin Sylvester, proposed the idea of a spin-off series surrounding all of the cast's kids. Justin's idea involved Mike and Lauren's son heading to the Jersey shore along with Snooki, JWoww, Deena, Pauly, and Ronnie's kids. The show would take place in about 18 to 20 years, once all the kids can legally drink. Justin even added Vinny Guadagnino can tag along for the trip since he will more than likely still be single and partying. Mike and Lauren laughed, but they were quick to agree. It sounds like they don't have high hopes of Vinny finding love on the third season of Double Shot At Love.

Mike was all for the idea, admitting, "I think that's going to happen. I mean we're all on that road right now."  Mike went on to explain the kids already have "hundreds of thousands of followers on social media" at just five and six years old. He can't even imagine what things will be like for them by the time they are around the same ages as the cast was during the very first season of Jersey Shore. Of course, they had to ask Mike the ultimate question of whether or not he will allow his son to watch the show. Mike explained he will allow their son to watch the show. However, Mike will make him watch the spin-off series first.

His decision is based on the different ways he is portrayed in both series. The spin-off show portrays his impressive comeback, which includes celebrating five years of sobriety and his positive lifestyle, as well as his happy and healthy marriage to Lauren. Then, once their son turns 18, Mike will allow him to watch the original series of the show. As of right now, the cast has eight kids in all with two new babies on the way. Although fans still have a long wait for a spin-off series surrounding the roomies' kids, they don't have to wait too much longer for another season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. The cast recently wrapped up filming the upcoming season, but a premiere date has yet to be announced.
