Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's wife Lauren Sorrentino just hinted at the name of their baby boy in her latest Instagram selfie. Lauren posted a photo of herself on Instagram in which she was seen wearing a "R" initial on her necklace. Now, fans are theorizing what the couple could potentially be naming their son. Lauren is due to have their baby any day now.
Lauren and Mike announced they were expecting their first child together back in November. Prior to their announcement, the couple suffered a miscarriage resulting in a battle to get pregnant. Now, they are nearing Lauren's due date. Earlier this month, Mike and Lauren took some time to take maternity photos together in celebration of their first pregnancy, which were later mocked by fans and called awkward.
Lauren and Mike are preparing to become first time parents any day now. While there is no doubt the soon to be parents already have a name picked out for their son, they have not publicly shared it quite yet; however, Lauren just subtly gave fans a little hint. Lauren posted a selfie on Instagram in which she was seen wearing a dainty, gold "R" initial necklace. The photo was posted to show off her "soft glam" while filming. Since neither her or Mike's first or last names start with an "R" fans are assuming that "R" is the first initial of their son's name. The couple has already received numerous gifts from friends and family in preparation for their baby's arrival; perhaps this was one of them. Take a look at her selfie below.
Once fans saw the "R" on Lauren's necklace, they began to speculate what she and Mike may be naming their son. Many Reddit users believe that the baby's name will be "Roman Sorrentino." After most users came to an agreement that this is the best guess, they began to speculate what his middle name will be. One comment read, "So now the question is will he be Roman Michael after BDS or Roman Christopher after Lauren’s brother?" Another Redditor claimed that Mike has previously mentioned that the name Roman means "strong" which is something both he and his wife stand for. Other names that were suggested included Rocky, Riccione, Richard and Reginaldo. One long time Jersey Shore fan even joked that they will name him Ryder. Ryder is Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's best friend who was seen during the original series who had a brief yet flirty unofficial relationship with Mike.
It is not confirmed if Mike and Lauren will in fact be naming their son Roman, or if his name will even begin with an R for that matter. There is no doubt the couple will share photos of the baby as well as announce his name as soon as he is born. Much of Lauren's pregnancy is expected to be seen on the upcoming season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation which premieres jerzday June 3 on MTV.
