Star of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Jenni "JWoww" Farley opted out of appearing at MTV's Video Music Awards in order to have a movie night with her kids. During the later seasons of Jersey Shore, Jenni began dating Roger Matthews. The couple went on to get married and have two kids together following the conclusion of the show before later going through a messy public divorce.
Amid their divorce, Jenni began dating Zack Carpinello, better known to Jersey Shore fans as "24" due to his young age. Once Jenni and Roger's divorce was finalized, Jenni went public with her relationship with Zack. Zack proposed to Jenni in February of this year. Zack has since moved in with Jenni and her two kids in their New Jersey home. As seen on the show, Zack gets along with Jenni's kids quite well.
On Sunday, September 12, 2021, MTV celebrated its 40th birthday with the live Video Music Awards. In the past, the cast of Jersey Shore has attended the awards show since their hit series is part of the network. The day after the VMAs, Jenni took to Instagram to explain why she did not attend this year. Instead of putting on full glam to attend the big night, Jenni stayed home to have a movie night with her daughter Meilani and son Greyson. Jenni wrote, "Wish I could’ve been there but I promised the kids a movie night." In the post, Jenni included photos of herself from the past VMAs she has attended. This past May, Jenni did attend MTV's Movie & TV Awards alongside some of her co-stars.
Jenni shared six photos from the VMAs red carpet from past years. The first photo showed Jenni posing by herself in a black and white sparkly gown. Then, in a photo taken more recently, Jenni covered her face with a pair of sunglasses as she stood alongside her best friend, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. The post included another photo of the best friend duo on the red carpet. The last two photos included Snooki, as well as Pauly D Delvecchio and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino from one of the group's first times attending the award show. The only cast member to attend the VMAs this year was Vinny Guadagnino, which is not surprising considering he is the only one who is not in a serious relationship and does not have kids.
Jenni has come a long way since most of these red carpet photos were taken. She went from never turning down an appearance opportunity to preferring a night in with her fiancé and kids. Luckily for Jenni, she has the best of both worlds. She gets to go on short trips with her roommates to film for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation while still ensuring a majority of her time is spent focusing on her kids.
