Ronnie Ortiz-Magro is missing from the first trailer for the upcoming season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. While nearly every roommate was seen at some point throughout the short teaser, Ronnie was nowhere to be found. Ronnie was in fact a part of the cast's trip to the mountains earlier this year, which was filmed for the show.
Despite not being featured in the show's teaser, Ronnie has been in the spotlight an awful lot lately. In April, Ronnie was arrested on accounts of domestic violence allegations. He was taken into custody in Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides. Ronnie was later released on $100,000 bail. While many were initially under the impression that Ronnie's ex and baby mama Jenn Harley was involved in the incident, it was actually his new girlfriend Saffire Matos that was on the receiving end of the altercation.
After news broke of Ronnie's latest arrest, Jersey Shore fans began to plead not only for him to get help but for MTV to fire him from the franchise. Since the upcoming season was filmed prior to his recent arrest, Ronnie is set to be seen in the new episodes; however, to many fans' surprise, he was actually missing from the season's new teaser. After the official Instagram page for the show shared the short teaser, Ronnie's absence was noticed by The Ashley's Reality Roundup. In the video released on Tuesday, Deena Cortese can be heard saying, "The entire family is back together. It is everything." While this was mainly intended toward Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's return to the show, it became quite ironic since Ronnie was nowhere to be found; therefore, the entire family was not actually seen.
When the last season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation came to an end, Ronnie was seen in the preview for the following season. In fact, even his girlfriend Saffire was set to make her debut on the show, meeting the roomies for the first time. Earlier this week, both Ronnie and Saffire posted a throwback photo together to prove to fans they were doing just fine. The photo was perceived as being taken from the cast's mountains trip as the couple was bundled up in winter gear with snow in the background. On top of all of this, Ronnie was the only cast member to not post the teaser for the new season to his social media account, which is something he, along with the rest of the cast, typically tends to do.
While it is highly unlikely that production completely cut Ronnie out of the new season as it would be quite difficult to do, it is odd that they chose to eliminate him from the teaser. If anything, they may limit his screen time throughout the new episodes. Perhaps MTV is taking into consideration the strong opinions of fans regarding his presence on the show. The new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation premieres on jerzday June 3, 2021.
