Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is being bashed for her "random mom rant" on Twitter over the weekend. Nicole recently took some time away from filming for the show. After the drama unfolded at Angelina Pivarnick's 2019 wedding, Nicole announced she was quitting the show. She then took a season away from filming before making her long awaited return this season.
Nicole's reasoning for quitting the show was so she could focus more on her husband and three kids. Although she has returned to filming for the show, Nicole is not a part of every episode. While she does make some cameo appearances here and there, Nicole has worked a deal with MTV in which she does not partake in filming that requires her to leave her kids for days on end. Nicole, along with the rest of the cast, has already began filming for next season.
Since Nicole's main focus is being a good mom to her three kids, she is quite real about motherhood on social media. Now, she is receiving backlash for her "random mom rant" on Twitter. Sunday night, Nicole took to Twitter to share some late night thoughts about being a mom. She wrote, "Is it normal to be a bi-polar mom? Meaning like one day I’m this bad a** getting laundry done, cleaning, organizing. The next day I’ll be completely lazy & stuck to the couch eating my babies left over crackers on the floor." Fans were quick to bash Nicole for her lax use of the term "bipolar." One user advised Nicole that "bipolar disorder is a severe mental health condition. Not just simple fluctuations in mood or motivation."
Nicole quickly apologized for the misunderstanding. She did not mean for her simple tweet to be interpreted in this way nor did she mean for it to offend anyone. What Nicole was actually referring to was "having totally different moods as a mom." One user, who admitted to being bipolar, advised Nicole to "get it together" as her tweet was inconsiderate. After Nicole began to read through the backlash she was receiving, she understood why fans were so upset about her tweet. Nicole's initial intentions for her "random mom rant" was to be honest about "how wild motherhood mood swings can be." Nicole not only apologized but promised to never misuse the word "bipolar" again. Nicole later reworded her original tweet by replacing the word "bipolar" with "different moods."
The backlash Nicole often receives on social media is most likely one of the reasons she wishes she was not famous. Nicole is very grateful for everything Jersey Shore: Family Vacation and the entire franchise has given her; however, sometimes the fame can get tiring. She wishes she could take her kids out without being recognized and bombarded for pictures.
