Ronnie's aggression scared viewers, leading them to question his stability. Fast forward to today, where Ronnie has missed a court hearing for his most recent arrest back in April for domestic violence. The allegations involve his now-fiancée, Saffire Matos. Ronnie's long history with the law has not been great. When he dated Jenn, both were arrested for physical altercations. Ron seems to have found himself in a very dark place.
According to The Sun, the entire cast has been filming for season 5, but Ronnie has not made it to set after his last arrest. The outlet reports that he has "not been participating." A source told the newspaper that Ronnie is just not filming, at least for now, saying that the other cast members started to film two weeks ago, and production is moving full steam ahead. It has also been reported that Ronnie made the decision to step away from the show to seek mental health treatment.
MTV fans will recall that Ronnie made an announcement back in May that he would be making the decision to step away from the show that made him a household name. The news came directly after his violent incident with Saffire. The reality TV star took to Instagram to share that he had spoken with the team at MTV, and both had mutually agreed that it was best for the 35-year-old to take a step back. Ronnie shared that he had ignored his mental issues for too long, and it was time to seek out help. He made it clear he would be facing his struggles head-on.
But there is some good news for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation fans, as Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is back at the helm after she decided she couldn't just quit the show cold turkey. Angelina Pivarnik is also going to go through a divorce after her wedding was featured on the show. MTV fans are excited, as this could possibly mean she and Vinny get their shot at love. While the rest of the cast will miss filming with Ronnie, everyone knows this is the right move for him.
