Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Deena Cortese are sharing their thoughts on Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's long-awaited return to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Like the fans, Jenni and Deena were actually shocked that Nicole was returning. In fact, the fan-favorite meatball did not tell her roommates about her decision to return.
Nicole announced that she was quitting the show during the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 3 finale following the drama that took place at Angelina Pivarnick's 2019 wedding. She then took a season off from filming to focus on her family and business ventures, when the fans missed her dearly. Despite Snooki's absence, the rest of the roommates headed to Las Vegas and filmed a majority of the season in a COVID-19 bubble inside a resort. When the cast began to film yet again for the upcoming season, rumors started to circulate regarding a potential return from Nicole. Nothing was confirmed regarding this for quite some time. However, not only did Pauly D hint that she would be seen in the new season, but Nicole was also spotted filming a lunch date with Angelina.
When the first teaser of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation was released for the upcoming season, the fans were shocked to see Snooki featured in the clip. According to Daily Pop, the fans were not the only ones surprised about Nicole's comeback. After all, her roommates also had no idea that she'd be coming back to the show. During a virtual press day, Deena shared: "She didn't even tell us she was coming back. We were completely, completely surprised." Jenni then chimed in, admitting that the girls were "crying like little babies" when they found out the news. Needless to say, the two are more than excited to have their bestie back on the show with them.
Jenni continued on to explain that she is unsure whether Nicole had planned the timing of her return perfectly, or if it just happened "organically." Both Jenni and the rest of the roommates were also completely "taken by surprise" since many thought that Nicole was actually done with the show for good. Following a tough year for everyone between the never-ending drama from Angelina's wedding, as well as the stress of the lockdowns across the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nicole being reunited with the family was what they all needed. Jenni described it as a "wholesome moment [they] all needed so bad." Their family was once again "complete."
Despite the confirmation that Nicole will in fact be in the upcoming season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, it is unknown whether her presence will be permanent or just a brief cameo. With Ronnie Ortiz Magro stepping away from filming for the show following his recent arrest, the show would be down two main cast members if Nicole does not make a permanent return.
