Deena Cortese compared herself and her fellow female Jersey Shore: Family Vacation roommates to the cast of the hit movie Mean Girls. Deena, along with the rest of the cast, has encountered much drama over the last 12 years of filming for the series. Luckily, they are at a point where they get along more rather than not.
Deena was added to the original show during season 3, after Angelina Pivarnick had made her permanent departure from the show. Now, both Deena and Angelina are a part of the spinoff series. Amongst the entire cast, Deena is seen as the most down-to-earth Jersey Shore roommate. Aside from filming, Deena lives a relatively average day-to-day life. She spends a majority of her time with her two sons as well as her husband, Chris Buckner. Chris has become a reoccurring character on the spinoff series as well.
Although Deena knows how to keep her life on the show and her real life quite separate, she too has been a part of the drama over the years. In an effort to poke fun at the cast's past drama, Deena took to Instagram on Friday, September 17 to compare herself along with her fellow female co-stars to the characters from the movie Mean Girls. Deena posted a photo alongside Angelina as well as Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley. The photo was taken inside Nicole's New Jersey home. Deena wrote, "Mean Girls (Jersey Edition)," before listing the potential "playbill." Take a look at the group photo below.
Deena first casted Angelina as Cady Heron, who is the main character of the movie but also the outsider of the group of mean girls. She then compared herself to the ditsy one of the group, Karen Smith. In Deena's make-believe cast, Nicole was casted as Gretchen Wieners. Gretchen is the sidekick to the main mean girl Regina George, who Deena cast Jenni as. None of the girls were offended by Deena's quite accurate comparison. In fact, they found it funny. Jenni shared her excitement about being cast as Regina in the comments section while Nicole couldn't help but laugh. The comparison does in fact line up perfectly with the four girls, especially when correlated to the drama that transpired at Angelina's wedding involving the infamous Jersey Shore bridesmaid speech.
Deena, Angelina, Jenni and Snooki were most likely filming together for the upcoming season of the show when this photo was taken. The cast has already revealed that they have all started filming for season 5 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation; however, they have yet to take a family trip for the season. In fact, the cast is still unsure of where they will be headed for their next group trip. As of now, all of the filmed content has been taking place inside the cast members' homes.
