Jennifer Lawrence's new R-rated comedy movie now has a release date. Titled No Hard Feelings, the movie is being directed by Gene Stupnisky, who recently helmed the mystery/adventure Good Boys. Stupnisky is co-writing the screenplay with John Phillips, who will also executive produce. Currently, Lawrence is the only star attached to the project, and the actor will also produce the film with Alex Saks, Marc Provissiero, and Naomi Odenkirk. Sony Pictures acquired the rights to No Hard Feelings in October 2021, outcompeting many studios and major streamers who wanted the project.

Plot details of the movie are currently being kept under wraps, but Sony has also said that the movie will be an "R-rated comedy with heart," though this description is still largely vague. However, Deadline has reported that the movie will be a "raunchy" comedy, similar to There's Something About Mary and Bad Teacher, the latter of which Stupnitsky also co-wrote. The new comedy will release in theatres on June 16, 2023.

Lawrence's last movie, Don't Look Up, was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. She will soon re-team with its director, Adam McKay, who himself is well-known for comedies, such as the beloved Step BrothersNo Hard Feelings will be the first time Lawrence ventures into the world of a hard R-rated comedy à la Bad Teacher,  however, and it is certainly an exciting addition to the actor's diverse filmography. Though not much is known about the project, its title suggests that No Hard Feelings could be a romantic comedy of sorts. While most theatrical comedies released from major studios are usually rated PG-13, its hard R rating will certainly pique interest, and Jennifer Lawrence's role will likely become clearer in the coming months.
