Days after announcing she was filing for divorce from her husband David Eason, Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans has now said she will be seeking full custody of their daughter Ensley.

Jenelle and David are no strangers to the spotlight, and their relationship has long been in the public eye, particularly when David was accused of, and admitted to, having shot and killed Jenelle's dog Nugget after the family pet supposedly attempted to bite their daughter. Jenelle's ex-fiancé and father to her son Kaiser, Nathan Griffith, is also facing legal trouble after being arrested for driving while under the influence in October of 2019. Jenelle and Nathan have been involved in a custody battle for quite some time, but with Nathan's latest DUI arrest, his play for full-custody of Kaiser will likely be unsuccessful. As if that wasn't enough, Jenelle was also noticeably absent from the most recent season of Teen Mom 2 after MTV reportedly let her go because of her husband's actions toward their dog. She's already involved in one messy custody battle, and it looks like Jenelle is about to be in another one.

After announcing via Instagram that she is getting divorced from her husband of two years, Jenelle has now said she will be looking for full-custody of the couple's two year old daughter Ensley (via TMZ.) According to TMZ, sources say that Jenelle believes "she's the more fit parent of the two, based on David's troubling history," but also that she "doesn't intend to keep Ensley away from David." The mom of three reportedly "acknowledges [David is] a good dad and loves his daughter, so she wants them to have contact," but simply feels that Ensley should continue to live with her full-time, as she does now. Jenelle has not addressed what will happen with her other two children, whom David has been step-father to since the couple wed in 2017, but seeing as they are not David's biological children, it's doubtful that he will seek, or be granted, any sort of custody over the two kids.

David Eason in Teen Mom

On October 31, the North Carolina native announced via social media that she and her three children had moved away from David and that the couple would be divorcing, even though just weeks prior she had said their marriage was stronger  since the accusations against her soon-to-be ex-husband surfaced. Jenelle wrote on her Instagram that "nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end," but that the time away from Teen Mom has made her realize she "needs to make changes." A source also told TMZ that Jenelle "believes that she will not have a career in any field if she stays with David," which could be influenced by the fact that she was recently dropped by eyebrow kit manufacturer XJ Beauty due to poor sales.

Whether Jenelle was fired from MTV or chose to take time off on her accord, the divorce from David, as well as gaining full custody of her daughter Ensley, on top of her other children, could signify enough positive life changes that MTV would consider having her return to Teen Mom 2Rumors have been circulating that Jenelle is interested in returning and fans have stuck by the now 27-year-old since she first appeared on MTV a decade ago, so it's possible that this isn't the last fans will see of her.
