Players may be able to see Star Wars Jedi: Survivor soon at the Game Awards with a release date potentially being revealed at the event as well. The game was initially teased in a trailer earlier this year, but little information was given about the sequel besides its title and certain story beats. Jedi: Survivor will take place five years after the events of its predecessor, 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

According to a recent report from Tom Henderson's Insider Gaming (via IGN India), a new trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will arrive at The Game Awards 2022. Henderson's report also claims that pre-order information and the release date for Jedi: Survivor will be announced at the event, with the trailer ostensibly set to come 30 minutes after the livestream begins. Previous rumors claimed that the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order would release in March 2023, which - as the Insider Gaming article notes - matches EA's release calendar that a major IP would arrive by the end of Q4. Should these rumors prove accurate, it may be the case that players won't have to wait long to see the next installment of Cal Kestis' adventures.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's Rumored Game Awards Reveal Makes A Lot Of Sense

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was first shown at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago earlier in 2022, but subsequent information has come via action figure reveals and not much else. If it is indeed set to launch in the first half of 2023, however, then another reveal at The Game Awards 2022 would make perfect sense. The Game Awards has given viewers many world premieres in the past with titles like Wonder Woman in 2021. To meet the expectations of its audience, showing a preview of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor would live up to the hype of previous announcements.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order recently turned three years old, and it's considered a high point of Disney's controversial Star Wars gaming era. With this in mind, it's understandable why anticipation for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is high. A fresh trailer at The Game Awards 2022 would help fans channel some of their hype into something new, and could provide a solid platform for a final marketing push before the game's rumored March 2023 release.

Whatever direction developer Respawn Entertainment decides to take with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal Kestis has become one of Star Wars' best video game Jedi, and his legacy in the franchise has been cemented. Besides its new installment in the Star Wars Jedi series, it was also revealed earlier in the year that Respawn is working on three new Star Wars games with EA, including an FPS. Reveals for those games are unlikely to come until later in 2023 at the earliest, but it's good to know that the developer is broadening its horizons in the galaxy far, far away.
