Getting the double-bladed lightsaber early in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is quite easy, and it can be done approximately two-to-three hours into the story. After completing everything on the planet Bogano and uncovering Cal Ketsis' mission to rebuild the Jedi Order, players will have the option to explore worlds around the galaxy at their leisure. One of the worlds that are open to players is the planet Dathomir - the home of the Nightsisters and Nightbrothers as well as the former Sith lord, Darth Maul.
Dathomir is a world infamous in Star Wars lore and certainly not a place that's easy to go through. So it makes sense that it would be the location players would need to visit in order to get the double-bladed lightsaber early on in the story. If players are planning on completing everything on Dathomir all in one go, then perhaps going to Zeffo first would be best, so that Cal could level up and become stronger in the Force before he takes on the dangers of Dathomir.
But if players simply want to get Jedi: Fallen Order's double-bladed lightsaber and move on, then all they have to do is follow the main path on Dathomir toward the north side of the planet. They'll find a workbench there that allows Cal to upgrade his lightsaber into a double-bladed lightsaber. Good thing is, Cal doesn't need any specific materials or be a certain level in order to unlock and equip the double-bladed lightsaber. The workbench shouldn't take long to get to either.
Where The Double-Bladed Lightsaber Workbench Is Located On Dathomir
Locating the workbench isn't difficult since it's essentially on the golden path through Dathomir, but when players arrive at Brother's Bastion, they should be sure to explore all corners of the area, as the workbench can be missed. So if you've reached the Wanderer without finding the workbench, turn around. The above map shows its location at the far end of Dathomir's explorable area. Just note that while the workbench is easy to find, this is still Dathomir, and fighting the Nightbrothers that are thrown in front in Cal isn't simple, even on the easier difficulties.
Given that the first double-bladed lightsaber to appear in the Star Wars movies came from Darth Maul himself in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, it's fitting that players would get their double-bladed lightsaber from Maul's homeworld. Whether that means double-bladed lightsabers have a long history with the people of Dathomir is unclear, but it's something that Star Wars fans may appreciate, as subtle connections like these are the bread and butter of what the franchise is known for.
