As players await the release of the sequel, it may be fun to revisit Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. In the game, players explore a small part of the galaxy following the events of Revenge of the Sith and master Jedi powers as Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis while he is being hunted by Imperial Inquisitors. If players have already beaten the "vanilla" version of the game, it may be a good time to install mods to create a fresh experience.

Many of the best mods for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order are cosmetic updates that can make the game feel more realistic for the player. Other mods can change the game's context, making enemies appear as other characters from the Star Wars universe, like Republic Clone Troopers or Sith Shock Troops. Mods allow players to create the experience they want and make the game fresh and interesting for longer than it might have otherwise been. Here are some of the best mods players can download for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in 2020.

Best Mods for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in 2020

Cal uses a double-bladed lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

The most highly praised and endorsed mods for Jedi: Fallen Order give players a bit more freedom to tweak the story and the characters in the game. The "vanilla" version's customization options can be somewhat lacking, so modders have made up for that with far more options for realistic and exciting character development. Here are six of the best ones.

Lightsaber Color Editor

Part of Jedi: Fallen Order is finding parts and building Cal's lightsaber. The Lightsaber Color Editor mod by Callyste lets players control every aspect of the lightsaber's design, from the color of the blade and its glow to the sound it makes when powering up. Players can also use this mod to create "dark" saber effects.

Jedi Knight Cal

While Cal starts the game never having formally completed his Jedi training, by the end, he has learned and earned his Jedi powers. To celebrate this, some players choose to have him in traditional Jedi robes. The Jedi Knight Cal mod by Vergilfox replaces Cal's costume with Jedi Knight robes. While not the most discreet given Cal is on the run, it can be fun and more immersive to play the game in true Jedi apparel.

Female Jedi

Players can only enjoy Jedi: Fallen Order as the male character Cal. However, if they choose, they can gender-swap Cal and play as a female version using the Female Jedi mod. Created by AlexPo21, this mod adjusts the model for Cal to appear more feminine. Players should know before downloading that this mod does not change Cal's voice; players will likely need to find and download a different mod if they would like this feature.

The Clone Wars

Several mods for Jedi: Fallen Order replace characters with others from the series. There is one that replaces Cal with Ahsoka Tano, one that replaces Cal with Darth Maul, and this one by Vergilfox which replaces Storm Troopers with Clone Troopers. The Clone Wars mod officially makes the list because, while the others that replace Cal's model with other characters do not change the voice, breaking the immersion somewhat, replacement of enemies does not require a voice change to be immersive.

True New Journey Plus

Developers introduced a new game mode, New Journey+, earlier this year. This mode allows players to keep any cosmetics they find in one playthrough and carry them over to subsequent playthroughs. However, this mode resets skills for Cal, as that is part of the story of the game. The True New Journey Plus mod by Callyste gives players freedom to choose exactly what will carry over to their next playthrough. They may choose for a full carryover, which will include skill upgrades and Force Powers, or a partial carryover. Players should be aware, however, that a full carryover will mess up the main story progression and unlock all areas, even those Cal should not be able to access until later in the main story.

Cal Customizer

This fairly new mod by AlexPo21 simply gives the player more freedom to customize the main character. The Cal Customizer includes 15 hair colors, 30 eye colors, and 15 skin colors to give players the chance to begin the experience again with a unique character. AlexPo21 has plans to add more to this mod, including more female options (the mod is compatible with Female Jedi to some extent), alien races, and face textures like facial hair and scarring.
