Khal Drogo actor Jason Momoa reveals he knows some top-secret Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers after visiting the set in Belfast. The eighth and final season of the hit HBO fantasy series won’t be gracing our small screens until sometime in 2018 or 2019, but the cast is already hard at work filming in Ireland and will continue until this summer.

Considering the series’ ratings have been increasing every year, Game of Thrones has set a pretty high bar for itself when it comes to creating a stellar final season containing epic battles, massive dragons and political drama that will top last season. Of course – considering all the leaks that plagued season 7 – plot details are being kept tight under lock and key to keep the ending of one of the most successful television shows of all time a surprise for fans, but a select few lucky ones already know how it’s all going to end.

In a new interview with EW, actor Jason Momoa reveals that he visited the set while the Game of Thrones cast was filming, and he saw some things he didn’t want to see. Momoa, who you can now see as Aquaman in DC’s latest film Justice League, played the Dothraki horse lord who marries and falls in love with Daenerys during the first season and, unfortunately, succumbed to a knife wound. Here is what he said:

“Just knowing how amazing this season is going to be…It’s going to be the greatest thing that’s ever aired on TV. It’s going to be unbelievable. It’s going to f— up a lot of people. And it was a bummer because I’m a huge fan and I didn’t want to know what’s going on. I was like, ‘Damn, I didn’t want to know that!”

According to Momoa, it looks like Game of Thrones is going to go out with an epic big bang and 2019 can’t come soon enough. We have to wonder though what the pressure is like for Momoa knowing coveted information about the season, considering just how serious series creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss are about keeping everything under wraps this season, but we have a feeling Momoa won’t ruin the series finale for fans considering he played a pivotal role on the show and knows just how passionate the fans are about avoiding spoilers.

Momoa also revealed that, despite fan’s wishes, Drogo will not be returning to Game of Thrones. It turns out whenever Momoa is spotted hanging out with the Thrones cast, the hype is turned up to ten with fans speculating whether the star will be returning to the series somehow. Here is what he said:

“I just showed up to see [producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss] and I just happened to see people on set. I haven’t been over there in a long time. You just want to see your friends and you end up make headlines going, ‘Drogo’s back!’ and I’m like, ‘He’s dead! He can’t come back, it wouldn’t work.'”

While we agree that Drogo probably won't be returning to Game of Thrones for the final season, it isn't totally impossible for the character to return in a vision or dream - like when he returned in Dany's House of the Undying vision during season 2 when she was reunited with her unborn child and late husband.
