The first PlayStation Plus games that will be given to subscribers in 2020 will be Goat Simulator and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collectionthe latter of which consists of three different Uncharted games. The quality of the PlayStation Plus games has been inconsistent over the past year since Sony decided to stop adding PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games to the line-up, but Sony ended the last decade with some amazing PlayStation Plus titles in December 2019, with Titanfall 2 being one of the best games given to subscribers that year.

The PlayStation Plus line-up was even the source of controversy last year when Konami claimed that Sony changed the line-up at the last minute, but it seems that Sony is making more of an effort to release higher quality games on the PlayStation Plus service. The PlayStation 4 is reaching the end of its lifespan and there is less reason for Sony to be protective over its former exclusive titles, especially as many of them are being added to the PlayStation Now service.

Sony is kicking off the roaring twenties with two awesome titles, or should we say, four awesome titles, as the official PlayStation Blog has revealed that Goat Simulator and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will be available for subscribers to download for free starting from January 7. Goat Simulator is an open-world game where the player takes on the role of a jerkish goat who wants to cause as much chaos as possible. It's fair to call Goat Simulator the precursor to games like Untitled Goose Gamewhere the fun comes from the comedy of playing an asshole animal and messing with humans.

PlayStation Plus subscribers will also receive Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection in January. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection consists of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. These games were originally released for the PlayStation 3, but they have been remastered for the PlayStation 4 as part of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection with new game modes and trophies. The PlayStation Blog has confirmed that Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection only contains the single-player campaigns for each game. It bears mentioning that all three games are available on PlayStation Now, which might be more affordable to some fans since Sony slashed the price of the service.

The PlayStation 5 will be released during the 2020 holiday season, which is good news for PlayStation Plus subscribers who only recently purchased a PlayStation 4, as the value of the former PlayStation 4 exclusives will soon be diminished in the wake of a new console release. 2020 is off to a great start with Goat Simulator and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and it will be exciting to see what other games are added to PlayStation Plus service in the lead up to the PlayStation 5.
