The CW's telenovela-inspired series Jane the Virgin casts Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey as a recurring character for the show's already confirmed season 4. The most younger-skewing network of the big five broadcasters has made a name for themselves in recent years for their DC TV universe - which includes four series: Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl - but The CW has a number of other genre favorites as part of its lineup, including musical rom-com Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, zombie comedy iZombie, Archie Comics by way of Twin Peaks murder-mystery Riverdale, and the telenovela Jane the Virgin.

Now in its third season, and already confirmed to return for season 4, Jane the Virgin started off in 2014 as a tale about Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez), an aspiring writer who was accidentally artificially inseminated with the sperm of a former fling, Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni). Three seasons later, and after a three-year time jump mid-season 3, Jane is raising her son Mateo, grieving the death of her husband Michael (Brett Dier), and dealing with all the drama that comes along with her extended family. According to a new casting report, Jane will have one more person to deal with when Jane the Virgin returns for its fourth season later this year.

Deadline is reporting Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey is set for a recurring role in Jane the Virgin season 4, though he will make his first appearance in the season 3 finale. There are very little details available about Posey's character, but Deadline's report says he will be "someone from Jane’s past." The actor recently wrapped filming on MTV's Teen Wolf - the second half of the show's sixth and final season is set to air this summer - and made his directorial debut on an upcoming episode.

Although it's unclear what role Posey will play in Jane the Virgin season 4, the show's most recent episode did tease a new character that would eventually be introduced. Jane the Virgin is narrated by a third-person omniscient voice (provided by Anthony Mendez) who revealed at the beginning of 'Chapter Fifty-Nine' that Jane has been passionately in love with three men: Michael, Rafael, and a third unknown character. As Jane the Virgin's narrator is known to do, he offered a tease without revealing anything significant about this character. So, it may be that Posey has joined the show in this role, which would explain how he's someone from Jane's past.

That said, with so few official details to go on regarding Posey's character, it's impossible to confirm whether he will in fact be playing Jane's third great love. Jane the Virgin is known for dropping clues as to what will happen through the show's narrator - in fact, Michael's shocking death was hinted at by the narrator incredibly early on in the series' run - but viewers won't know for sure until Posey makes his debut. Since the actor will first appear in the Jane the Virgin season 3 finale, though, fans won't need to wait long to learn what character Posey will portray.
