For 100 episodes, audiences watched the Villanueva women navigate life and love in South Florida on Jane The Virgin. Their lives were as complicated and dramatic as the telenovelas they loved, leaving a lot of room for twists they didn't see coming and learning curves to adapt to.

With the drama in their lives, like accidental insemination, reconnecting with high school love, and moving on from love lost, the women have quite a few colorful characters in their lives. The personality traits and motivations of those characters offers some compelling evidence to decipher their zodiac signs.

Aries: Luisa

Luisa and Rose standing together in Jane the Virgin

There are people who put a lot of thought into their decisions, and there are others who jump right in. Luisa is the latter, which is why she's most definitely an Aries.

Aries are impulsive, often following their first thought without considering the consequences. That's very much in line with Luisa jumping into a relationship with Rose before discovering the woman is dating her father. Aries are also, however, very adventurous, ready to take on new challenges that others would shy away from, like leaving the country to go on a spiritual retreat that everyone around them laughs at.

Taurus: Michael

Brett Dier as Michael in Jane the Virgin

Michael is one of the most dependable people in Jane's life, even if they don't always see eye-to-eye. He's steady and determined, ready to do the right thing and take on any responsibility thrown his way.

All of those are traits associated with the Taurus. Those born under the sign of Taurus are creatures of habit. They have that one food truck they visit for lunch, the one book they read over and over, and a definite type when it comes to romance. Michael is very much a creature of habit who has trouble letting go of the past, but is always there when someone from the same past needs him.

Gemini: Petra

Petra in Jane the Virgin

When the audience first gets to know Petra, she appears to be quite the schemer. That's partly true as Petra often schemes to get what she wants, but in reality, Petra changes her approach to solving her problems depending on the situation she's in. That's very Gemini of her.

Geminis are charmers. They tend to make friends fast, and are able to blend in to just about any social setting. Geminis also, however, tend to put on a separate persona when in those same social settings, preferring to fit in instead of make waves. Petra is good at playing in polite society when she has to, but in reality, she just wants to figure out what makes her happy.

Cancer: Lina

Jane and Lina in Jane the Virgin

Lina is one of Jane's oldest friends. The two meet in fifth grade when Jane tries to teach her own sexual education class in Catholic school. Though she doesn't appear in every episode, Lina and Jane never lose their connection.

Those born under Cancer have a reputation for being overly emotional, but in reality, they're very emotionally connected to those they care about. Cancers put the focus on feelings instead of actions. They tend to be protective, like Lina arguing with Jane about knowing that her friends might get fired from the hotel in the first season.

Leo: Rogelio

Rogelio with his arms around Jane in Jane the Virgin

Rogelio loves to be in the limelight. Whether it's a telenovela or a Las Vegas stage show, he prefers his world to be well lit by a spotlight and to have an audience. There's no one in the show who is more of a Leo than Rogelio.

Leos love the limelight. If there's a party, there's a Leo at the center of it. Of course, Rogelio is also willing to share the limelight with those he cares about. He might love his job, but he loves his family more.

Virgo: Rafael

Jane the Virgin Jane Villanueva and Rafael Solano Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni

In a lot of ways, Rafael is a Leo, much like Rogelio. He likes to be the one in charge, or the one who gets the credit when things go well. Rafael, however, is also a fan of a well thought out plan.

When Rafael is faced with challenges in his life, he might turn to a bottle of expensive alcohol at first, or even a pretty face, but he also makes a plan. When Rafael first thinks he's losing Jane, for example, he plans the perfect elaborate wedding proposal for her, though it's too soon. He also puts plans upon plans into place to save his hotel from certain bankruptcy. Rafael has the Virgo planning instinct down.

Libra: Nadine

Nadine In Jane The Virgin

Nadine isn't in the series long, but she certainly makes an impression as Michael's partner on the police force. She turns out to have been feeding information to Sin Rostro, but not entirely by choice.

Nadine sees the good and the bad in every situation, weighing the possible outcomes and going with the one decision she thinks she has to make. She's the person most likely to play devil's advocate in an argument and to try to get someone to see another point of view. Nadine is very much a Libra.

Scorpio: Magda

Magda in Jane the Virgin

Scorpios tend to be typecast as villains thanks to their aggressive nature, but in this case, Jane The Virgin's resident Scorpio is definitely a villain.

Magda goes after what she wants, no matter who might get hurt in the process. She hides the truth about herself from her own daughter in order to get Petra to continue playing into her hands. She definitely gives Scorpios a bad name.

Sagittarius: Jane

Gina Rodriguez as Jane typing on a computer

Jane has a lot of Virgo tendencies. After all, she has a five year plan and uses post-it notes to schedule out her calendar on a regular basis. Her Sagittarius traits, however, certainly outnumber her Virgo traits.

Those born under the sign of Sagittarius are curious by nature. They love to learn - and they also love to tell stories. Jane's love for telling stories is a huge part of who she is, but she's also someone who absorbs knowledge like a sponge, learning everything she can about any object she's interested in.

Capricorn: Rose

Rose looks distressed in Jane the Virgin

Rose, also known as the criminal boss Sin Rostro, might not have the familial ties a lot of Capricorns value, but she certainly has the pragmatism, work ethic, and ambition down.

Rose might work harder than anyone else in the show since she has to spend all of her time keeping up a facade, running her criminal enterprises, and staying one step ahead of authorities. All of that hard work does pay off for a long time as she's able to amass wealth and control - until she's finally caught.

Aquarius: Xiomara

Xiomara Talking to Rogelio in Jane the Virgin

The rebel of the zodiac, an Aquarius prefers to make their own path in the world instead of tread a familiar one. That's Xiomara in a nutshell.

Despite her career choices not being entirely practical for a young woman living with her mother and having a child in high school, Xiomara never gives up. She puts her daughter first, butts heads with her mother, but always follows her passion of performing, whether it's dance or song. She might not be Jane's idea of a traditional mom, but she certainly finds her own way.

Pisces: Alba

Jane the Virgin Alba Citizenship Ceremony Jane Xiomara

Often thought of as the most spiritual of the zodiac, Pisces tend to be the ones most connected to the world around them. They're creative and sensitive souls.

Alba has rigid rules in her home, but she has them as part of her religious observations. As she sees her daughter become a mother, and then her granddaughter as well, Alba relaxes those rules, understanding that she has to be flexible in a changing world. Alba never gives up her own spiritual focus, however, and finds ways to honor her beliefs while still allowing those around her the freedom to live their lives as they see fit.
