However, viewers already have to say goodbye to her early in the competition. The singer made the announcement on social media and several fans have expressed their sadness, along with support for her decision.

On August 1, Nightbirde announced that she would no longer take part in the AGT competition. Nightbirde is battling cancer and was first diagnosed with the disease in 2017. Since then, her cancer has gone into remission and then recurred numerous times. She confidently told Instagram that she knew she would live through it. While announcing her decision, she said: “Since my audition, my health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention,” she said on Instagram. “I am sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season of AGT. Life doesn’t always give breaks to those that deserve it -- but we knew that already.”

The official @AGT IG account was one of the many to share a caring message for Nightbirde. That message was, “We’re keeping you in our thoughts for a full recovery!” Other fans told her she’s already won the show in their eyes. They sent prayers her way.

During her audition, the 30-year-old told the judges about her battle with cancer. At the time, she said it was still affecting her lungs, spine, and liver. However, Nightbirde still performed with positive energy, telling everyone, “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.” She captivated the audience with her angelic voice and uplifting lyrics about life, leaving the crowd stunned with silence at the end of her song. After her unforgettable performance and praise from each AGT judge, she revealed that she only had a 2% chance of living but confidently stated that 2% is not 0%.

Since Nightbirde has an undeniable talent and an optimistic attitude, she will definitely be missed by America’s Got Talent viewers. Despite being unhappy about her departure, fans understand why she left the competition. She is putting her health first. She might not have been able to win the competition, but she earned success, was memorable, and was awarded the Golden Buzzer. “Thank you for all your support, it means the world to me,” she said, adding, “Stay with me. I’ll be better soon. I’m planning my future, not my legacy. Pretty beat up, but I’ve still got dreams.”
