Kat Dennings shares how she thinks her character Darcy would react to Jane Foster becoming Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. Dennings played Darcy Lewis in Thor, which also introduced Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder in 2011. She also played the fun loving lab assistant to Natalie Portman's Jane in Thor: The Dark World, which released in 2013Thor: Love and Thunder, which recently started filming, will be the fourth installment in the series.

Dennings is currently appearing as Darcy in the Disney+ show WandaVision. In episode 4, which premiered last Friday, Dennings' character was given a big role. The series revealed that in the time since her appearance in The Dark World, Darcy has followed in Jane's footsteps and earned a PhD in astrophysics. In WandaVision, Darcy is consulting for S.W.O.R.D. in an effort to understand what has happened to Scarlet Witch and the town of Westview.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, Dennings shares her take on how Darcy would react to her friend Jane becoming the God of Thunder. This is confirmed to happen in Thor: Love and Thunder, which will show Jane taking up the mantle of Mighty Thor. Although it is unknown how much Darcy's relationship with Jane has changed in their long break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Dennings is sure Darcy would have a strong reaction to Jane's big transformation. Looking excited to be asked about her theories, Dennings focuses on Darcy's attraction to Thor:

Just complete confusion. Probably still attracted to Thor, but maybe in a more platonic way? I don't know. As a fan, I am desperate for this movie. I can't wait for it.

Although she is playing a big role in WandVision, Dennings emphasizes she is theorizing as a fan rather than as someone involved directly with the current Thor project. Her statement further confirms she has not been asked to return as Darcy in Thor: Love and Thunder. However, fans eager for more Darcy content have no need to worry, as five episodes of WandaVision remain.

Dennings has been a fan favorite since her first appearance in Thor, where her character provided a great amount comic relief. Her eagerness to discuss her involvement (or lack thereof) in the MCU is insight into her enthusiasm for her character's development, even if it's just hypothetical. Her fun take on Darcy's first reaction to Jane becoming Thor shows she is acutely in-tune with her character's comedic flash.

Dennings' leading role in WandVision has provided the same while also showing how Darcy's experiences in the Thor movies impacted her enough to switch from political science to astrophysics. Including Darcy as a strong minded and highly skilled character celebrates the inclusion of powerful women in the MCU, just as Portman's Thor surely will as well. Although it looks like Dennings won't be appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder, her role on WandaVision is a great way to give a familiar character a larger spotlight.
