In All-Star Superman, an adult version of Superman rescues Dr. Leo Quintum and his P.R.O.J.E.C.T. team from an exploration mission to the Sun. That mission gets remotely sabotaged by Lex Luthor, but Superman acquires the ability to project his bioelectric aura.
