The Jackass franchise is back once again with Jackass Forever, and some familiar faces are returning alongside some impressive guest cameos. The slapstick comedy, directed by Jeff Tremaine, is known for pulling dangerous — and sometimes disgusting — physical stunts. The Jackass crew has expanded over the years, and now some new blood and A-list celebrities are risking their safety alongside members of the original crew. Here is a guide to every returning Jackass star and every cameo.
Jackass began as an MTV series that ran from 2000 to 2002. Created by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze, and Johnny Knoxville, the show focused on a combination of physical stunts, pranks, and toilet humor to pull some laughs from audiences. Many of the original Jackass crew can be found in Jackass Forever, still pulling off wild feats for the sake of comedy. Unsurprisingly, the Jackass series was controversial, with many parents hating it but an entire generation of teenagers and young adults loving it. The franchise has now spun off into six movies, including Jackass Forever, to great success.
Jackass Forever wasn't without its own controversy, though. Like many movies as of late, the sequel was delayed due to complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, sadly, original Jackass crew member Bam Margera was fired from Jackass Forever after breaking his agreement to remain sober during production — and director Tremaine even took out a restraining order against him. Margera shot back with a lawsuit, claiming he was coerced into the agreement and that it was unfair. Now, friendships between Margera and the Jackass crew have unfortunately soured over the incident. Though Margera filmed a handful of stunts before his firing they did not make it into the final cut of Jackass Forever, and he is credited mostly as a writer. Steve-O
As most know, Steve-O is a founding member of Jackass. Starting with the MTV Jackass series in 2000, Steve-O became one of the key members of the original Jackass crew. Steve-O is known for continuously pulling out bigger and riskier stunts. Despite the many injuries Steve-O has collected in Jackass — and continues to accumulate — Steve-O is back with bigger and bolder stunts in Jackass Forever. He's walked on a tightrope over hungry alligators, launched himself into the air in a full port-a-potty, duct-taped himself to a billboard while naked — and much, much more. On top of hosting his own Jackass spinoff, Dr. Steve-O, he has starred alongside Chris Pontius in Wildboyz and currently hosts a podcast, Steve-O's Wild Ride!.
Johnny Knoxville
When it comes to Jackass, Johnny Knoxville is one of the most iconic names out there. Starting with the creation of the MTV series, Knoxville's career evolved into the subsequent Jackass spin-offs — including Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, where Knoxville took on the role of Irving Zisman. On top of pulling wild stunts, Knoxville is also a legitimate actor, credited with roles in movies and television series like Coyote Ugly, Elvis & Nixon, and Lords of Dogtown, as well as running Dickhouse productions alongside Tremaine and Jonze. Despite suffering some brain damage during a stunt in Jackass Forever, Knoxville put his all into his final Jackass appearance.
Chris Pontius
Chris Pontius, the Party Boy of Jackass, is another true original. His career started with writing for Big Brother magazine alongside fellow Jackass collaborators Knoxville and Tremaine before finding success within the Jackass franchise. Pontius is well known for being naked during his stunts — he even got Jackass 3D the greenlight by piloting an RC helicopter with his genitalia. If audiences can expect one thing from the Party Boy Chris Pontius, it's stunts that are far outside of the box.
Preston Lacy
Preston Lacy is best known on Jackass for his size; as the original plus-size crew member, Lacy takes advantage of it to garner some laughs. One of his best-known stunts revolves around chasing Jason "Wee Man" Acuña, who he appears with a majority of the time, down the street while they wear only their briefs. One Jackass Forever poster hints at some serious pain for Lacy, as a mechanized boxing glove is unleashed on his genitalia. On top of his Jackass appearances, Lacy also performs stand-up comedy, appearing in comedy tours across the United States.
Jason "Wee Man" Acuña
Jason Acuña, known as "Wee Man" on Jackass, is a stunt performer and professional skateboarder. Like Lacy, he takes advantage of his size — Acuña has dwarfism, a fact that he uses to pull hilarious stunts like popping out of shopping bags to surprise the unsuspecting victims. Unlike past Jackass installments, COVID restrictions prevented Acuña from doing his classic public reaction bits in Jackass Forever, seeing him instead joining the rest of the crew for some straight-up pain. In addition to appearing on Jackass, Acuña has appeared on reality TV and in various movies, as well as becoming a franchisee for the chain Chronic Tacos.
Dave England
As another original of the Jackass crew, Dave England is a professional stunt performer and former professional snowboarder. England has a notable, if disgusting, skill that separates him from the rest of the Jackass crew: he can defecate and vomit on command. This skill has lent itself to some particularly foul stunts throughout the history of Jackass — this includes the Poocano of Jackass 3D, which is easily one of the most stomach-churning stunts the franchise has pulled to date. England also possesses an alter-ego named Darf, an angry persona who appears when he drinks to excess.
Ehren McGhehey
Ehren McGhehey, or "Danger Ehren," is a former professional snowboarder and current stunt performer. As one of the youngest, McGhehey suffers from chronic little-brother syndrome — among the original Jackass crew, McGhehey is frequently the victim of pranks and bullying from his collaborators. The trailer for Jackass Forever shows co-star Knoxville strapping McGhehey to a chair, dousing him in honey and salmon before allowing a bear into the room, just one of many pranks McGhehey has fallen victim to.
