It has been announced that Jackass 4 has been delayed until September 2021. It was announced in late 2019 that Jackass 4 was officially in the works at Paramount. The film was originally intended to hit theaters in March 2021, but was previously delayed to July 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The last installment of the series to hit theaters was Jackass 3-D back in 2010, where Johnny Knoxville and his crew filmed their precarious stunts in the popular format.

Now, Jackass 4 has officially been delayed two months by Paramount, with the film now releasing Friday, September 3, 2021. Along with this announcement, Paramount revealed that they would also be delaying the highly anticipated Top Gun: Maverick, Under The Boardwalk, The Tiger's Apprentice, and A Quiet Place Part II. This would have the comedy sequel hitting theaters 11 years after the last installment. In regards to what members of the original cast will be returning for the sequel, nothing has been confirmed at this time.

Jackass 3D cast

Jackass began as an MTV show that became increasingly popular in the early 2000s, following Johnny Knoxville and his merry band of misfits as they performed dangerous stunt after stunt. The series ran for three seasons on the network before going off the air. The series eventually became successful enough to spawn a feature film, which hit theaters in 2002 and grossed an impressive $80 million at the box office against a modest budget of just $5 million. The film's sequels, Jackass: Number Two and Jackass 3-D were also financially successful, grossing $84 million and $171 million respectively. Though there hasn't been a sequel since 2010, Knoxville made a spinoff film, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, which hit theaters in 2013 and was also a box office hit, grossing $151 million globally against a budget of $15 million. So while Jackass 4 may be releasing over a decade after the last movie, there still may be plenty of viewers ready to watch even more of Knoxville's pranks and stunts.
